History is complex - let's make it a little less so together.
My name is James. I'm a British-American student aiming to provide you with high-quality, educational, and entertaining content. I run Look Back History to share my own love of learning about the past with the world!
The most valuable lesson I've taken from my academic work isn't some fact or figure about a far-off place; it's how to effectively break down sources and think about humanity's history as an ever-interlocking continuum. Individual videos will be about specific topics, but it's always my goal to tie them to a greater relevance.
Still, I'm not perfect! I do a lot of research for every video, but some things will always be subjective, and sometimes I can still be flat-out wrong. That's why I list my sources in RU-vid's description box, and encourage you to check them out for yourself!
I also encourage you to SUBSCRIBE and hit the notification bell to get updated on new releases!
As a Hungarian, I feel like the Allies unjustly stole the land we had for nearly 1,000 years. Trianon killed our country and it gave Transylvania to the damned Romanians.
talat pasha didn't order the relocation of the armenians because he was a fascist. i mean i hate this obligatory acknowledgement of the so called "genocide" in these types of videos. please learn the definition of genocide and the armenian rebellions, and learn the historical context before insisting on the genocide.
It is not true that minorities didnt want to live in Hungary. There are many multiethnic states today as well. It is not true that it was justice for minorities. The majority of the people were minorities in the stolen lands in the new states. So many people were maybe not Hungarians in Transylvania, but not Romanian either. So it was more unfair ethnically than before. Besides, even the other minorities didnt want Trianon, for instance we know that Slovakians just didnt want Czeckoslovakia at all, not even Slovakia. They were just a little minority without this ambition. The world doesnt work such way that the minorities want an own country. There were also differences between minorities, not all of them had the same attitude. In Hungary's case it has no sense to see the country this way, it was always multiethnic, people lived in peace. 1:16 the map suggests that there were not a lot of hungarians... but they lived in more populated areas, and there were many not populated areas at all in Transylvania. Regarding to the population almost half of slovakia and ruthenia, half of transylvania, almost all voivodina was not the suggested ethnic groups
Ataturk was a alcoholic warcriminal who loved ypung boys. He was saved from defeast by the soviets. During and after the Armenian-Turkish War of 1920, Soviet Russia donated to Turkey: 39,000 rifles; 327 machine guns; 64,000,000 rounds; 54 guns; 147,000 shells; all Russian weapons abandoned by the Russian army in Transcaucasia in 1918; 2 destroyers; built 2 factories for the production of gunpowder in Turkey and supplied equipment for a cartridge factory and raw materials for the production of cartridges; donated hundreds of carloads of fuel; donated 600,000 tons of grain; donated 10 million rubles in gold; supplied military specialists (Frunze, Aralov, Mdivani, etc.) who trained Turkish soldiers and helped in organizing military operations; sent the 11th Red Army against Armenia, consisting of 50 thousand soldiers, whose task was to help the Turkish army destroy the Republic of Armenia.
Wrong Britain is not a country there is no such thing as a British monarch . 1707 was a union of Parliaments not a union of territory . There was no union of the crowns 1707 act of union states two crowns two constitutions one monarchy . There is no such thing as the British crown
There has never been any "little" or "big" union. There was only one union, that of the Danubian principalities (Moldova and Muntenia) that formed modern Romania. To which Dobrogea (1878), Bucovina, Transylvania, Banat, Crisana, Maramureș (1918-192) and temporary Bessarabia (1918) were later annexed by treaties.
The population exchange that took place was a horriblle crisis. A big scar on all our fellow countrymen who lost everything and were treated very poorly. Also came very soon after the Pontic genocide which displaced people all over the worrld. Very dark times of our modern history
And Stjepan Radic was shopt becaose he said how much your Serbia blood is worth so we can buy it ( implementing ww1 Serbian Casualties) and thats why he was shoot, dont speak auslander if you never read shit about yugoslavia and is proud abour your powerpoint presentation.
Yet 7 years later Hindenburg, who with Ludendorff DID lose the war, was elected President!! They sure succeeded in pulling the wool over the public’s heads!
It was under Austrian Hitler, but was for centuries a Hapsburg shambles at the expense of the Czechs, Slovaks, Poles. Balkans and Venice, with the collusion of Hungary at the expense of the Romanians and Siliscians. A screw up from start to finish, but at least the stood up to the Prussians
