**Warning Against the Khawarij of This Era and Highlighting Their Misguidance and Crimes** By: Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Qusayr **Khawarij / Muslim Brotherhood / Friday Sermon** **Warning Against the Khawarij of This Era and Highlighting Their Misguidance and Crimes** Delivered by: His Eminence Sheikh Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Qusayr, may Allah preserve him 19th Rabi’ al-Awwal 1436 AH All praise is due to Allah in every circumstance, and we seek refuge with Allah from the causes of punishment and calamity. We ask Him for protection from the fate and state of the wretched and misguided. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone, without partner, the Great and Exalted. He gives respite to the oppressors but does not neglect them; then He seizes them with a mighty punishment. And I bear witness that Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, is His servant and Messenger, sent with guidance and the religion of truth, as a favor to the believers and a mercy to the worlds, and a warner to the criminals of the wrath and might of the Powerful. May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, his family, his companions, and those who follow them in righteousness, as Allah says: "So those who have believed in him, honored him, supported him, and followed the light which was sent down with him-it is those who will be successful." (Al-A'raf: 157) To proceed: O people, fear Allah, your Lord, and obey Him throughout your life. Take caution: "And fear a trial which will not strike those who have wronged among you exclusively, and know that Allah is severe in penalty." (Al-Anfal: 25) "And remember when you were few and oppressed in the land, fearing that people might abduct you, but He sheltered you, supported you with His victory, and provided you with good things that you might be grateful." (Al-Anfal: 26) O servants of Allah: Indeed, Allah has made the well-being of this Ummah in its early generations. Its later generations will face trials and matters they will disapprove of. Whoever wishes to be removed from the Fire and admitted to Paradise should let death come to him while he believes in Allah and the Last Day, and should treat people as he likes to be treated. Let him adhere to the leader of the Muslims and their group. If they have no leader or group, let him withdraw from all sects, even if he has to bite on the root of a tree until death overtakes him while he is in that state. For he who gazes at the trials will be captivated by them, and he who seeks them out will be struck by them. Those who strive in them will be thrown into the Fire. There will be callers at the gates of Hell; whoever obeys them will be thrown into it. Their casualties will be in Hell. Indeed, the happy one is he who is kept away from the trials, and whoever is afflicted with them should endure. O servants of Allah: One of the major trials and serious calamities that have afflicted some Muslim countries in this era is the heinous events and severe misfortunes that have destroyed innocent lives, violated great sanctities, and squandered valuable resources. This is due to ignorant youth and oppressive, tyrannical, sinful leaders who have mastered the art of mixing truth with falsehood and deceiving the weak-minded or ignorant. They have acted in the name of jihad and reform, wreaking havoc on the earth and turning away from the knowledge inherited from the Prophet, either out of ignorance, arrogance, or stubbornness. They have misled the people, driven them away from Islam, and given the enemies of Islam a reason to rejoice over the Muslims' plight. They have combined deception, excommunication, killing, and bombing, justifying the violations of sanctities with false interpretations. The calamity has thus become severe, the disaster great, the trial widespread, and the evil rampant. They have misapplied Islam, brought disgrace to its people, pleased the hypocrites, and become a refuge for the wicked from all horizons. They have delved deeply into crime, becoming a source of evil for the Muslims. The truth of Allah's words applies to them: "And of the people is he whose speech pleases you in worldly life, and he calls Allah to witness as to what is in his heart, yet he is the fiercest of opponents." (Al-Baqara: 204) "And when he goes away, he strives throughout the land to cause corruption therein and destroy crops and animals. And Allah does not like corruption." (Al-Baqara: 205) "And when it is said to him, 'Fear Allah,' pride in the sin takes hold of him. Sufficient for him is Hell, and how wretched is the resting place." (Al-Baqara: 206) O Muslims: This ignorant youth and the tyrannical, oppressive, and unjust leaders who have undertaken this dark trial, namely unjust killing and spreading corruption on earth and distorting the meanings of Shariah, are the Khawarij of this era. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, warned us about them and urged us to uproot them, describing them as "young in age and foolish in mind, speaking with the best words of creation, reciting the Quran but it does not go beyond their throats. They pass through Islam like an arrow passes through the prey. If I were to reach them, I would kill them as the people of 'Aad were killed." Agreed upon. The Sunnah has shown that the Khawarij are a corrupt gang and an evil seed that brings corruption and crime. They are a source of corruption and a precedent for apostasy from Islam, as well as other forms of misguidance and crime. Their heinous words and sinful actions have brought destruction and ruin to Islam and its followers. O people: These evil ones have corrupt beliefs, distorted perceptions, and ignorant actions. They excommunicate Muslims, consider their lands as lands of war, and prioritize fighting them over fighting the original disbelievers. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said about them: "They kill the people of Islam and leave the idolaters." To prevent them from being refuted by scholars who are the reference of the Ummah and the heirs of the righteous predecessors in beneficial knowledge, true belief, and righteous guidance, these scoundrels, described as "the dogs of Hell" by the Prophet, hastened to slander the scholars, accusing them of hypocrisy, appeasement to rulers, discouragement from jihad, and justifying the actions of rulers out of personal desire. They excommunicated the scholars and diverted the youth of the Ummah from learning from them and adhering to their fatwas. They urged them to follow the leaders of desires and their factions, resembling their predecessors among the Khawarij who objected to the distribution of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and his Sunnah, excommunicated the Companions, and violated their sanctities with false interpretations and clear desires. O Muslims: These groups that have deviated from Islam and call their evil upon Islam and its people jihad, reform, eliminating corruption, and establishing the Islamic caliphate are free from Islam and its people, and Islam and its people are free from them. They have deviated from the religion and not returned to it. They excommunicate the Muslim rulers, the scholars of religion, the security and army personnel on the front lines, and the general Muslims. This is the judgment of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, about them: "In the end times, there will emerge a people who are young in age and foolish in mind. They will speak with the best words of creation, but their faith will not go beyond their throats. They will pass through Islam like an arrow passes through the prey. If you meet them, kill them, for there is a reward for killing them on the Day of Judgment." O believers: These deviant groups limit Islam to themselves and obligate all Muslims to migrate to them. They excommunicate and violate the sanctities of their opponents, issuing fatwas out of ignorance and ruling with injustice and oppression. They disguise their violations of Shariah as legitimate and combine in their actions and falsehoods serious ignorance, major destructive sins, speaking about Allah and His religion without knowledge, and attributing foolishness and misguidance to the Sunnah and guidance of the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him. They slander the scholars who are the defenders and protectors of Shariah, issuing fatwas with falsehood and desires. They follow the misguiding leaders who say what they do not know, do what they are not commanded, and whom the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, urged to fight, kill, and eradicate their fitnah. O believers: The characteristics of these deviant groups include that their leaders are laymen, their muftis are people of desires, and they have no knowledge of Shariah. They are not known for piety; they are graduates of prisons, valleys, mountains, and unknown lands and societies. Some of them have criminal records involving drug abuse, highway robbery, money laundering, and committing immoral acts. Among them are thieves, students of foreign intelligence, and those who fled from Muslim societies to the lands of disbelief. They specialize in experimental sciences, civil laws, medicine, accounting, and similar fields that have no connection to Shariah knowledge or its people. Their sermons or evidence are prepared by some of their followers who are people of desires, night gatherers, and those who learn from books. They are "newspaper sheikhs," issuing fatwas with conjecture, ignorance, and desires. They have no knowledge, guidance,
