Cards in a can? Bizarre! You know, when I started buying cards in the 60''s, check lists became quite rare because kids like myself used to check the players off as we collected, and the unmarked lists became rare because of that. NFL is short for Nat. Felon League, so chances are he is or was incarcerated. Nice family vid Zach. Good thing Dad was there to show you how to use a can opener. Nice!
@@thepassionatepackrat1988 they are bizarre. But the cards are actually a nice quality. I need to find the baseball and hockey versions and compare them.
@@socalrams74 there are plenty of decent characters. But there are not many that will be worth as much as the box price. But that’s the case with all hobby boxes. If you can get the box at a decent price(40-50$) it’s a great, quick rip!
@@adamdunn1675 I love modern cards just as much as vintage cards but for completely different reasons. Card collecting has gotten so much more complex with modern cards. But essentially we are in another junk wax era of cards.
@@zachcollectsstuff3378 Yeah, lots of rookies of the high pick, low level career. Plenty of Garnetts, Duncan’s, and others. Still have an old Stadium Club set from when they had a membership program.
@@_trib I picked up the entire box for 40$. That included the basketball and football cards that I featured in the two previous videos. Pretty pumped about the deal.
The two Jim Kelly topps cards were rookies. Also, Steve young’s rookie card is in the ‘86 set with Bruce smith, Reggie white, and Jerry rice. You went past it, but it’s worth mentioning. Good pulls! I’d pay $40 for the haul, but not much more. Sounds like they knew what they were getting rid of
@@broncosbreaks thanks!! I love having people share their knowledge with me. I learn something new with connecting with other people in the hobby. Thanks for watching the video!
@@zachcollectsstuff3378 oh, that’s right. I did hear you mention that. I’m more of a football guy, but I love all things sports and surprisingly junk wax. I’m looking forward to seeing it! Thanks for sharing
I do too. It’s great to find collections that haven’t been touched for decades. Sometimes they are duds sometimes it’s a gold mine. I will always be in the lookout as well.
@@christinamanley4216 there are a few ways to go about it. If you’re willing to put in the time to find out values and sell the cards individually that could be the most lucrative. Another option is to find a local card shop and bring in some of the cards that you feel could have the most value and have them give you an idea of value for your collection. Another option if you are wanting to move it all at once is to use Facebook marketplace or local garage/yard sale groups on fb to help you get the word out there. If you have some high end cards you may need to think about grading the cards before you sell to maximize the value. I know these are generalities but without knowing what type of collection you have (years, quality, condition, high lights) it’s really tough to help with specifics. One thing I would do is find a couple of the cards that you think may have some value and do a search on eBay for ‘sold listings’ of the same card you have and that should hopefully give you an idea of what the card sells for. The important thing here is checking the sold listings not the unsold, because people can list cards for whatever they want on eBay. Ex. They could list a 1989 Topps Ken Griffey Jr card for $1,000 but the sold listings are actually going for $5. I hope this helps a little. If you need more info feel free to ask!
I have had a few of those card throughout the years of collecting but I’m pretty sure I’ve sold them over time at my shows because I can’t seem to locate them. I don’t really know much about the Man from UNCLE show or the cards that go with them so I never pursued those ones.
Congrats. That's a huge achievement. I hate to admit this, but I remember opening these packs when they were released. I never collected them like baseball and hockey, which I don't have those cards either. Not sure what colour they were, but it doesn't matter now. Condition matters little. The fact that you possess them. Beautiful cards. Well done!
What a haul! Are hangers better than blasters? They are great looking cards. Love the black borders. Nice yellow and gold. Very nice. Hangers are 21.95 here. 😢 Thanks
I have always liked the hanger box format. A bit cheaper than blasters and I like the assortment of inserts and rookies you get in each box. I am a fan of blasters as well. This year I am steering clear of hanger packs. I would pay the 5$ or so more to get the hanger if available. Great looking cards this year!
I wish I could find a blaster for 15.00. They're never that cheap here, sadly. Checklists never had much value because a lot of people, kids, used to mark them up or throw them out. Then they discovered there weren't many intact checklists available and suddenly they became valuable due to the scarcity. I wonder if the same will happen with the home-run redemption cards if everyone scratches them. You're right about pulling a ton of rooks. Love the Ace cards. I think Topps borrowed the idea from OPC hockey since they have been printing the playing cards for years. Great photo of Barlow. Nice rip Z!
Thanks for the comment. That’s an interesting take on the HR challenge cards. It makes you wonder how many will make it through without being scratched off
Wonderful pickups Hudson. Love the T-Rex. I agree with you on price tags. It's like shopping a Walmart where the wrong tag or no price tag exists. Great purchases for a buck. I was just looking, an hour ago, at Man Ram's rookie cards. Some great scores. Nice video, thanks
