The plastic parts and rubber seals from these thermal carafe always gathers so many off-putting tastes and aromas, so a glass carafe is a must for me. I have the performance and I turn it off immediately after brewing. I felt that it was an upgrade from the Moccamaster. I prefer fresh water in my brews, so it was a hassle to always «brew out» the desiliter of water in the system before each brew.
Thank you for a good video. Just got the Wilfa Performance myself, and noted that you fill the water container from another mug. It is worth noting that the water container is made to be taken off and filled directly from you drinking water tap, and it is also easy to clean. To me, combined with the pump that leaves no water inside, this seems to be the best solution to ensure your coffee is brewed with fresh, clean water both short and long term.
Thanks for this video. I’ve thought of doing a hot bloom when I make my five gallon batches of cold brew but was worried about increasing the acidity which is a big reason many prefer cold brew. I should experiment and see. Even use a meter to measure the acidity. A hot bloom could also degas the beans better
Be careful!!! The filter inside the peak water starter pack just worked fine one day. After one day the water is not drinkable at all. I sent an e-mail early this week and I have not received orientation. The taste of my water worsen with your filter. It is really expensive to have this lack of perfomance.
@@UncleBenjs they refund me partially , because shipping cost of delivery and return were paid by me; eventhough the product is frequently defectous , I dont recommend it at all
I was unfortunate enough to buy a Wilfa. It arrived broken (won't turn on) and their customer service is a shambles. They're now asking to verify the serial number, and prove (via video) that it in fact does not work. I was really excited about getting a Wilfa, and now I regret it. Worst way to spend £120 as I'm now stuck with a paperweight, and dealing with their slow customer service.
Fantastic info! I would love to see a review of the Philips Grind & Brew. It states that it will give the same amounts of coffee each time. I have a really old unit that just died, but that one certainly did not, the hopper style bean holder was just on a timer, and if beans did not fall down, you got the weakest coffee of all time.
To those complaining of the quality of the “espresso” this machine yields… a 25gm shot came through in about 15-17 seconds. Way too fast. It’ll be under extracted and awful.
I personally drink it just as is but with ice cubes because (according to the internet) cold brew has a much higher and possibly dangerous caffeine level so it's best to dilute with some ice cubes or water
Just came from shop. Black friday sale Classic tall model:"CM2B-A125 "89 €. Here in Finland. Usually 99€ or more. WSP2A usually over or under 300 € now, 199€, that model was not in this review. Wilfa Svart Performance. Now 169€.
Are they in one big box or are there smaller boxes inside the big box? I am not sure i like the smartgrinder and want too keep the option to sell it seperatly.
Stupid design of the container, too much is spread out because of the distance inbetween the lid of the ground coffe and the mill itself, Also the lid, when y open it tends to flip down and alot of coffeee is spread all over the counter, not to mention the static electricity of the plstic material. I regret buying it!
What about a troubleshooting video? And one on how to fix the grinder when it stops working? I've had two of these, but will never buy a Wilfa coffee grinder again. Flimsy stuff.
Thanks for the comparisons! ^^ I wonder how the prices have changed since this video. Currently (in Sweden) the Ratio 6 is more than double the price of Svart Performance. Is it worth that much extra?
