Is the Rozhdestvensky BBC studio version available ANYWHERE? Vinyl or CD perhaps? I understand, like the LIVE performance, also a Desert Island set. Rozhdestvenksy and Bonynge both are superb in this magisterial ballet.
I sooooo much appreciate having the score. I have listened to many performances and recordings of this excerpt and no one does it like this! Yes, Yes, Yes, Callas is unbelievable - as usual - and Di Stefano is superb, but!!! Callas also had the great fortune to work with some of the greatest conductors of her time, Gavazzeni being one of them. He keeps the whole scene moving, does no allow any overindulgence and keeps it all going to ----- the 7 minute mark the climax at the 6/8 is shattering. Gavazzeni stretches the tempo allowing each artist to expand their phrase. The rubato is brilliant! At the same time it isn overdone. There are 3 great artist collaborating here! BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!
For me for the best beautiest and so sensitive interpretation I ever heard since 40 years buy the CDs-this is music from heaven and the chorus alone is top!
Callas strikes us as unengaged, as if sight-reading, but her singing, though on the pallid side, is free of really bad moments and very lovely at times.

@@aclassicaltrove yeah im aware of these playlists in callas official channel but i found it weird that you didnt post the full recordings but only one hour. Also, la forza does not exist like that in a FULL video, only in little seperate videos of playlists like the one you sent.
@@judygarland7186 Well, since full uploads of the recordings were already available at the time, I thought it would be redundant to reupload them, so at the time I only focused on highlighting the parts most people would be looking for, anyway: the parts with Callas.
