I don't know man, but yeah maybe 97 was a bit early for laptops capable of delivering the desired performance, perhaps in combination with peripherals? But he must've had some cool gizmos and thingamaginies with him. ;)
Second track sounds a bit like a looped part of Minnia (The Queen's Theme) by X-103 over something else. I'm sure I've heard it before somewhere, did anyone ever figure it out?
Imho it's an unreleased mashup of some Mills tracks, such as the one you mentioned and some others (there's also a sample from The Bells, olus a few elements from 2 other tracks which I don't recognize atm). There's also a cut on Changes of Life, but that could've been Surgeon himself. I believe it is an unofficial mashup straightly crafted by Mills himself, which he handed to Surgeon and maybe a few other djs. There's a 20sec video of Surgeon at the 97/98 NYE event at The Orbit (which is the night this mix was recorded) which features him dropping this exact track. Unfortunately the video quality is too low so it's impossible to tell the label
No, nothing was modified or added. I tried again and all was fine. My best guess is that an Ecologist accidentally shot a military man while fighting a mutant or something close to the base, they fired back and also considered me hostile. At least I learned from this that the hunting kit is not able to be used as backpack.
Yeah, I was there to. 20 years old. I had my 21st birthday in there. Was awesome, but I tell you what, I can’t listen to this in my older age! Some wild nights in there! Wow.
