Where do you get the hydrogen for this process? Oh we just use high pressure high temperature steam to reform it from methane. Er? Why not just use the methane? How dare you question our green energy!

Sorry but you make it sound as if you had a solution to CO2 emissions... your methanol production thing might have great efficiency, but if you don't run it on green energy it is not helping the situation much...

But what is the point of this process? Firstly, you need liquid co2 (produced by an industrial, energy-consuming process). Then you need (hopefully green) hydrogen, produced by electrolysis - which, with present technology, is an inefficent and non-cost-effective process. And then there is the energy consumed by your own process. All to produce methanol to burn and release co2. Why not just burn the hydrogen? The only exhaust products are heat and water!
@trs4u
@trs4u 7 месяцев назад
The most important reason is the most mundane one - we don't have "hydrogen burners". Everything works on carbon chemistry, and even if we (for example) banned carbon (I think this is a ridiculous idea) chemistry - all those things will continue to exist and people will want to use them for *decades*. Changing everything is an affront to reason and people's pockets. If we changed just how we supply carbon chemistry, it's only an affront to people's pockets, and a slowly-building one at that. Sliding over slowly gains us at-scale hydrogen production and carbon capture. If people start buying hydrogen burners, the supply will be there ready for them.

so, plants use co2 and produce O2, more co2, warmer climate, more plants, which balance the co2 out by producing O2.

You didn’t discover this I learned this in school.. Make cow farts from co2 and hydrogen. You build a very good engine, be more direct explaining what you have done, this is a generator people can buy from you, instal in their homes, easy methanol. Hydrogen prices then. Everyone has solar, wind or government installs large offshore ones for us to use, cheaper hydrogen. Once it’s cheap. We can use charcoal making machines, collect co2 first stage, After charcoal burnt there is more co2 Both heats water fast , and heats air fast, a simple water and air radiator system for peoples houses Also humidifies peoples houses automatically or dehumidifies I recommend wake up, go outside, set house to dehumidify until air is 0% , then add fresh moisture. Do this often Once 0% floor and ceiling vents air out house 5kw for a few minutes And then moisture level is corrected to 50%

@grancapoEstiqaatsi

well, the process is interesting, but I hardly see it as a viable way to convert CO2 from fossil fuels combustion into a useful product. here CO2 is pure and already compressed and liquefied. in real world conditions CO2 is a lot, diluted and at ambient pressure. CO2 capture (by means of amine absorption for example) and compression is very energy-intesive.

Like far too many research efforts, converting carbon dioxide into a fuel that will be oxidized again, (a net-zero fuel), requires an energy input. Catalysts, high pressures, very low temperatures, and hydrogen gas generation would undoubtedly require an industrial plant; but, what is your alternative energy source? Nuclear, solar, wind, hydro dams, geothermal...? The reason that fossil fuels are used is their abundance and cheap production; thus, your process needs to be more economical than drilling an oil or gas well, or mining coal. If your methanol costs more than fossil fuels, it's not a worthwhile technology.

but you can try po4 and n2 and k with photo synthesis reaction seperately one by one or mixed with water diluted in them . using bad chemicheals might harm the by products n products. eg. u can dilute n2 with water n do the photosynthesis first n let them react with the byproduct of your artificial photosynthesis. n the list goes on ..
