Base kit xbox is slightly better. Emulation wise pcsx2 version is 10x better than both Xemu and original xbox combined.

The Dreamcast version is the definitive one. The N64 version is close second. Stay away from the PS1 version. I mean it.

Play it on my rtx 4080 super for the first time. Great game. And it doesn't look to bad in 4k.

This games visuals are heavily reliant on the gamma and I can't help but think it's best on PS3. Because it's the darkest the strobe lights on Isaac's health bar seem to pop the most on PS3 followed by pc and then the 360. This is one of those rare examples where every part of the PS3 version is at the systems best and it probably edges the win for this game. In my opinion. Being darker it adds to the horror element as well so that goes in its favour.

The N64 version of the Hub World is much scarier and more well done. The red fog, the evil laughter from Cross-Stitch, and those cawing-like sounds from those small bats.

I really wish this video had more comments because I cannot tell which one is better and am incredibly indecisive. The one factor right now is how easy emulating each version is. PS2 and GameCube are fine, but Xbox seems damn impossible. Xemu just will not play it. So it's between PS2 and GameCube.

How the heck is 64MB shared Ram on the Xbox enough when it needs 512MB minimum on the PC? That's incredible.

There's one little difference between the two: The PS2 version's music changes a little when enemies can see you or are running around looking for you. The Xbox version doesn't have this, which is sad because that musical change is quite nice.
