One thing that’s also similar to your AU is that souls can age up their looks, though I like the idea of souls aging up in general if they A) have a vessel to possess, like an animatronic and b) have to have enough mental maturity and time to “grow up” in a sense. The adult animatronics themselves help with this, while child animatronics, depending on what age they’re supposed to be, will too, but not to the same degree as adult animatronics.
