Informative entertainment from a technical-minded gamer.
I make tutorials and Let's Plays on a variety of video games because I am a passionate gamer and I believe every viewer deserves a friend who can entertain and inspire them.
The hydrogen side fills up much faster than oxygen side. When the hydrogen is above 20kg its turning off the electrolyzers and thus my oxygen production stops until it dips under 20kg. How to solve? I don't want to run it indefinitely. I could add some generators to my power plant to burn the hydrogen. But is there a fix as it is? @engineertroy_
I was following along with you because doing helps me learn better then just watching plus I wanted to try for the achievements. This video pretty much killed that idea because there is no way I am going to be able to figure out how to do everything you did in 70 unseen episodes. I love your videos when they are true playthroughs and not highlights so if you decide to do another playthrough I will check it out.
I prefer videos that aren't chopped up because the ones highly edited make me think of watching football highlights instead of the whole game. If anyone doesn't like watching something then they can fast forward and that way you please everyone. 🙂 Good episode
May i suggest to drop surplus eggs in a room completely filled with hydrogen and a shearing station. instead of the " Evolution " death chamber. I also add a critter drop in the corner behind an open door this allows more critters to be dropped into this chamber by dupes from the incubator. Critters can walk out of the drop point and into the shear. By doing this you can get an extra two shears ( one shear when they become an adult and another before they starve to death) then collect the meat.
my cat accidentally clicked on this video, and i dont even care about oxygen not included, but i hope things get better man. you also sound passionate about what you like, and i hope good times are upon you
I like your play style. You don't rush through the game like so many others. Even though I have over 3,000 hours in this game I have only gotten 26 of the achievements so I decided to follow along with you and we can get them all together. :-) Good episode
As an ADHDer, I totally get the motivation struggle and the hobby hopping! You definitely don't owe any of us anything, and even if you don't feel burnt out now, pushing yourself to deliver content when you're not feeling it just might mean you release content you're not as satisfied with anyway. As for feeling bad that people notice "mistakes": even if you spend 100 hours to create a 20 minute video, we've spent just as much time with it after 300 views. So it's way easier for one of us to notice something small, especially since most of your time wasn't spent watching the final video hundreds of times to check! And even if it was, pro writers hire professional editors specifically because it's easy to miss things once you've spent a lot of time on a project. Keep up the great job working at your health and family!
Congratulations on the milestone! On a different channel, I play stupid video games that amuse me, and that's the main driver for what I do - so I understand you want to explain why you haven't been producing much for public content, but please don't feel you need to excuse yourself! Just keep on doing what makes you happy, that then comes over in content. Good luck for the future.
6:50 Don't stress about that and don’t be embarrassed! ONI is all about sharing. When we point out 'mistakes,' it’s because we love the game and want to share our knowledge. It’s like the open-source community-it's all about collaboration. Just learn from it, iterate, and keep going. You can’t match the output of an entire community, but you can contribute to it, and that’s what really matters.
Totally deserved!! I can relate with 95% of what you say in this video, especially the part about "what the hell am i doing here..." haha. P.S. Wasn't yet subscribed with this account, just did!!
We shouldn’t need to change any times if we only need four incubators. The 600 seconds OFF for the timer sensor is gonna stay the same because it is the lullaby buff duration. This does mean there will be some time between the fourth incubator turning off and the first one turning on. The reason we put so many incubators in series in the video was to maximize the number of eggs getting lullabied per cycle on one automation circuit. We could adjust the 75 seconds ON time for the timer sensor for fewer incubators as long as we change the buffer and filter gates to the same number. Though, if your duplicants aren’t completing the lullaby for every egg this may be more of a priority or scheduling issue. Hope that helps!
you can drop a full 200kg of 2 different liquid types for a hydra. This will result in 100kg of liquid per tile in your hydra. I would recommend dropping a full bottle instead of just a few kilograms.
Sorry for the delayed response! It sounds like either the drop door in the incubation room or the doors with the tile on top in the ranches are not correctly aligned vertically. If you’re still having this problem, check the overlays and compare them to your build. Hope that helps. Lemme know how it goes! 😊
Hey, just a quick PSA. You really don't need to rush rooms. They don't need the morale buff for a long time (lol, 17:55, 9 morale and 1 skill point). Putting doors and walls in takes a bunch of time you don't need to waste, same with dupes waiting to open those doors early game before they have any athletics. It's super easy to just finish the rooms as you level up. The lab is the only room I rush in the first 20 cycles or so, and then a dirty room before the outhouses fill for the first time. Great video, well explained.
PSA for ranches! The storage bin is your perfect setup for your evolution chamber. Just build a storage bin for eggs next to your fridge or grill. The dupes will automatically collect them and unlike the egg cracker you'll never lack an egg when you go to load an incubator. *edit - everything after this is wrong. Why is this the perfect setup for your evolution chamber though? It's simple, eggs in storage crack instead of hatching. That's it; now you'll eventually have automatic egg dispenser and when you load those eggs into an evolution chamber you'll start getting BBQ right away. I should make my own video, but I'm sharing it everywhere instead. I've never seen anyone do this in a tutorial and I find it revolutionary.
Depends on the recipes you're wanting to make. Your raw egg gets cooked into omelet for 2800Kcal with a +2 quality. With the latest Frosty DLC you can make souffle pancakes (3600Kcal) for a +3 quality which require eggs ( 1600kcal), and sleet wheat. Seems like you get more bang from your dead critter via Barbecue from Evolution dropped meat at 3200Kcal near the stove. this is twice the food output compared to a raw egg/ Omelet. Barbecue at (4000Kcal) requires no other food type for a +3 quality.
@@dean4939 I was just wrong. Didn't notice incubation wasn't going up, viability was just going down. It still works as a timed dispenser before your evolution pit is done, but it's not that good.
Чел, сделай лучше по другому, нужен капля нефти, и 4 клетки комнату вакум, и принеси балон водорода, не обязательно всю комнату с водорода заполнять, они зайдут подышать и уйдут
A more accurate and simpler way to measure out bottled liquid for use in the dropper is to build pedestals and place water on them. The subsequent bottle placed on the pedestal will be exactly 1kg of water. Then remove the water from the pedestal and proceed to sweep it up.
Anyone have a good answer to running out of sedimentary rock? I set up 2 of these, and now every few cycles I need to scavenge the map for food for the hatches. Doesn't seem sustainable at the rate i'm needing to collect.
Only feed your standard hatch long enough get a stone hatch egg then switch over to stone hatches for all your ranches. swapping out the food source for the stone hatch to Igneous or granite depending on whatever you have more of. Even then you could also build a regolith melter for which turns it into igneous ( late game build). I am currently experimenting with sage hatches eating lettuce since i can get salt water from gysers and even geotune them with the bleachstone. combined with a gold volcano. you dont have to worry about long term food until cycle 1500, but by then your computer is lagging so bad you will want to start a new game.
I've been looking for weeks (I swear) and I finally found your content. So hard to find good ONI tutorials. Perhaps because the learning curve is so steep? And the game has such a cool niche audience of geeky engineers and problem solvers? Anywho! If you're still active I'd love to subscribe. Cheers!
I also have a full-time job and I'm just cranking through videos like this while I have to be doing my actual job. I hope the work-life balance is working out for you, and thank you for this!
I think we’re all guilty of that sometimes 😂 I try not to complain but it has been extra hard to balance lately. Thanks for the support and the kind words!
It's good to note that the ranch back area can also be used for ANYTHING that doesn't require a deticated room. Rock crushers, filtration, transformers, liquid/gas tanks, farms.
Quad Hydra Tested on Ceres with Frosty DLC : As the freeze of water in 0 you might have issue to prime electrolysers. You need a bottom layer of hot crude oil and brine or polluted water with positive value and more than 100g (like 500g on two both top layer). Please do not close it immediatly and sweep any glass or materials if it failed, try again. Do not overpressure the electrolyser and save a lot of time your game.
