Yeah, as much as you can. Spelling out "EGG" increases your multiplier. You want to be going for that as much as you can. If you spell an incorrect word your multiplier resets, but if you spell a different valid word, you still keep it. Other valid words are "GGG" for options, "EEE" for a short burst of firepower (comes in handy for bigger enemies and the big asteroids in wave 3), and "GEE" to clear the screen of bullets. Good luck!
@@clippa thx for your answer. Was it funny to write egg along the whole game for scoring ? As i see, you should often stay on line with destroyed enemies to collect letters.
@@9uile125 Almost drove me barmy. E G G spells EGG. EGG. EGG. EGG. If this entire release has been a crafty ploy by the egg marketing board, I wouldn't be surprised.
Touhou has never clicked with me, to be honest. I find them boring to play. It's weird because I do like some fan games and other games that were clearly inspired by them, but touhou itself seems to have that special sauce that I just don't care for.
Yeah, I think it's best to try and go around the groups of lightning completely if you can then you don't have to worry about timing it. I know what you mean, you have to keep your eyes on the enemies so you don't want another thing to have to keep track of!
Yeah, it's way too easy. A nice scoring system would have given it some decent replay value. There's not even a timer so the only reason to play again would be to try and do it without dying, which I might do since it's still lots of fun to play.
Wait, you can drop from platforms? Istg this game is amazing because I don’t know a single thing about it. Each attempt of every game in this collection I somehow learn something new, the last game to do that for me was spelunky 2 another one of my favorites
Is it okay if I use this footage for an article about this game? Nothing big, literally just want to write something about Ninpek on my personal website and haven't been able to get this far haha ^^.
I'd like to think I could clear them all, but I don't know if it'll happen. The menu shows the games in chronological order by default so I'm just working my way through like that. I have to be in the right mood or be really tired to play stuff that isn't action/arcadey, so I'll probably save those types of game until the end. I need to go back and clear the car painting one still. I haven't managed that one yet.
Yeah, I did wonder if it would loop again. I thought I'd blown it at the end, but it was that no lives left means one life left thing and I managed to get the autofire shuriken thing and finish off the boss.
Whoops! You're right. Haha, yeah, it's very moreish. When I got a chance to play again last night, I tried another game (the car painting one. Fun. I think I got to the last stage but I blew it), but ended up coming back to ninpek afterwards. Got 24,210 this time and I think I was near the end of loop 2 before I dropped the ball. I wonder if there's a loop 3!
Awesome run. This vid helped make my decision to buy it. I've just cleared my fourth Cave so wanted something different! This is the best looking Shmup I've seen in a long time!
Yeah, it gets scary when you haven't got any bombs left! Finding the right weapon for that stage was a nightmare. I should have played more of freestyle first and got used to what each weapon did instead of just assuming it was a skill issue, picking up the same none-defensive weapon and doing the same thing over and over again and dying in the exact same way. Next time I'll try the x-bot though. There's a chance that that weapon powered up to level 3 might kill the enemies quickly enough that they don't get a chance to shoot much. Worth a try. That'd be much better for scoring if you could waltz around sucking up all the coins while your turrets mowed down the baddies.
Just pc at the minute, not sure about their future plans. It's on steam - store.steampowered.com/app/893900/Astral_Gunners/ and itch - satibros.itch.io/astral-gunners
@@hong10ly70 Just had a sniff around on the shmup junkie discord for you and found this from the dev a couple of months ago, it looks like they're working on it "Going to reattempt self-publishing on Switch after we get the Steam release behind us but that so far has been quite a headache when we tried in the past"
Yeah, it's loads of fun. I remember the steam page going up around October 2018 and then it went into early access around two years later, so they've been working on this for a long time.
There's a hidden mechanic. Once you get 100 stars, each star you pick up after that gives you an extra life, so try not to spend anything in the shop, and then you can just tank your way through the final boss with the lives you've earned and get a huge bonus at the end of the game for the stars you've kept.
