I agree. You can use open platter and have the old radar signal format translated to signal k in openplotter and have it available for whatever display or chart plotter in the network.

I recently found these series of videos and thoroughly recommend them for a good comprehensive overview. They are short, to the subject and easy to understand. There's some things I knew, some things new to me but now I understand how they fit together. Thanks

OpenPlotter has OpenCPN included and will make interfacing much easier. If you don't "hack" then keep with ONE MFG for your entire system (ex: Raymarine, B&G) or there will be interface errors. The 3G/4g overlay functions are on the LAN port (awesome!!) so a (OpenCPN) Raspberry Pi 3 or 4 can handle your NAV and makes a good Movie Player when on anchor. Cheers !!
