I am using JasperSoft6, I am not getting any errors but Image is not loading. my case I am creating Field property with java.util.String type, and using the expression provided by you. still no luck. I tried multiple combinations but still no result. I am not using Database as a source of my input from java code I am trying to set Map variable.
First of all, thanks for sharing your knowledge. Could you tell me how to change the Pie Chart colors dynamically? For example, I want to select the satisfaction level of a survey. I have: Good: Green; Irregular: Orange, and Bad: Red; If I select to appear on the pie chart, only the Good option will turn all green. But if I select only Bad, instead of the pie chart appearing all in red, which is the color for Bad, it will appear all in green, which would be the color for the Good option. I realized that no matter which option you choose, it will always appear in green. Now, if I show all the options on the pie chart, the corresponding colors will appear correctly. How do I change colors dynamically? Any idea? Thanks for your attention.

you have to pass category_id in chiled view as a context, for example create a category id field in child model and populate this field from parent model category using context and use that (category_id) field (located in child model ) to filter record

What if I add 3 sub-reports i.e: sub_report_A, sub_report_B and sub_report_C in main report. And I place them in alphabetic order in main report. My question is if sub_report_B does not finds any data from db, can it be made hidden? And will the orientation break?

Thanks a lot for this clear explanation. I see that it takes a time to update your module. I suggest, if you store some datas into file like CSV or XML, to comment his entries in __openerp__.py (__manifest__.py) once after install your module. Alternativelly, you can add "<odoo><data noupdate="1"> here records</data></odoo>" in XML file to avoid reload all datas contained into. That's help to reduce loading time. Thanks
