People asked where Go Together Go Far came from. We launched Go Together Go Far in early 2020 not long after upgrading from our first small travel trailer. We named the channel after the saying, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” We're going to see how far we can go as a family.
Go Together Go Far ( and GoTogetherGoFar.com ) focuses on Campgrounds Near Me, RV equipment, and RV Life. The RVing lifestyle is ideally suited for families who want to experience life together in a unique and fun way.

Oh my gosh! Thank you so much for this video. It all makes sense now! Even the RV dealership (who installed the Blue Ox distribution hitch) had it wrong and did not teach me how to do this properly! Thank you so much!
Nice Video. I did notice that when you torqued, you torqued the bolt head side, should always torque the nut side ;). Instead of doing all this did you ever try going to the 10th or manual says you can even go to the 11th link if needed?
AMAZON and KINGBIRD RV COVER scammed us out of over $1k. I still have the receipt of the dockworker who signed in the returned super heavy UNOPENED, HUGE BOX. Lost days of our lives arguing with scammers. If you want me to delete this, I will, sir!! Very sorry but we were scammed and KINGBIRD refused to help and did not care about a returrned signed receipt for said lousy product. Ty. We are happy to hear you are happy with your purchase.
OMG what a terrible experience. I'm so sorry that happened. There is no need to delete this. Your experience is valid. Mine was different, but I'm glad people will have an opportunity to hear all see the full picture of dealing with this, or any company. I wish it would have worked out better for you.
Thanks a lot for this video. My rv dealer told me to lock the chain at 8 to raise the back of my trailer. I finds it puts a lot of weight on my jeep grand Cherokee. Also the chain is not straight that way. What do you think about this? Thank you
I'm not sure I fully understand. It's supposed to move some of the weight from your trailer to your tow vehicle. Going to 8 links would put more tension on the spring bars. I can't see how chain/bar tension would have much impact on the height of the back of the trailer. I would think that is almost entirely dictated by the height of the ball on the hitch, and the wheels. I think I'm just misunderstanding. Sorry for any confusion.
@@GoTogetherGoFar hi I thank you for your answer. I am asking if you can explain the difference between hooking up the chain of the blue ox on the 8th vs 9th link please?🙏 thank you
@joannblondin8980 OH sure. Going from 9th to 8th will just increase the tension on the spring bars. More tension should increase the transfer of weight from your trailer to your tow vehicle, and ideally to the front axle of your tow vehicle, giving you more stability while you tow.
Nice video, I installed the HD kit on my 2020 F-150. You might have mentioned it… did you tighten the RAS down to 1mm or 2mm spacing? I have a similar trailer and was curious which spring tension you used. Thanks!
Kingbird RV covers are complete trash won't even last 6 months. The tops just fall apart in your hands after one mild winter. No customer service just a bunch of emails offering 30 percent refund then 50 percent refund then we will send a new one, but it will never come!
@SmokyMTNguy_ Hi. Rocky Fork is awesome. This was Site 2. Right at the very top at the hill right as you enter that upper area. Big site. Glad you liked it there!
@@GoTogetherGoFar ohh yes. Know it very well. I’ve been camping there since i was a little kid. Many memories with my grandparents there, who are longer with us. It’s one of the nicer parks.
One issue is you didn’t mention where to mount the brackets or what to do if the 9 links doesn’t work. Or even what holes to use on the hitch. You already had all that set up from your dealer.
The top is not very uv resistant and cannot support the weight of the sides for long. I add straps from side to side to support the weight and cover the white top with the sides of the old cover. 6 months is about all I can get. Still cheaper than than indoor storage .
Honestly you shouldn’t be going over 60mph anyways as your stopping power and control go out the window and why are you in such a rush towing? Driving a 1000 miles 65 vs 60 only gets you there only 45 minutes faster and over 15 hours is that really such a difference for the risk? There is a reason all U-Haul trails limit speeds of 55mph cause too much faster gets bad. In this video he mentions being cool up to 60mph so why add upgrades to go any faster?
Just bought the blue ox sway pro, how do you adjust the distribution? It seems my half ton sags about 2in in the back. I’m hauling a 2024 jayco jay flight 235mbhw.
If the goal was to ad more tension to the bars, wouldn't using a different link in the chains have the same net effect without having to get out the tools?
It could. The more I learned, including suggestions like this, I would encourage anyone struggling with similar issues to try adjusting the chain first. That very well may solve the issue. If it doesn't, try this.
This strikes me as a guy who likes to play pretend prepper, without actually knowing the ins and outs of using the equipment in a real situation. Like someone who saw things online and just bought a bunch
My KingBird cover shredded after one year and they want $50 to send a replacement. The cover isn't worth what I paid first time so I'm certainly not sending another $50.
My experience: After one year this cover shredded and the company wanted more money sent to a private Paypal account to replace it. It was originally purchased on Amazon. I'm not sending them any more money.
I got my awning today I cannot see a second stitched slot to feed the tubing in where the roller goes in mine came with the tubes out. I fed the top in the a second in at the bottom. But my third white tube had no stitched tab. It seems as though it may be for a different model. My roller and old awning had two slots like yours when the roller got installed? Are you familiar with a replacement that does need two slots used ? Thanks in advance for any help.
Dude !! I was going to pay someone 600-700 dollars to do this on my power awning. But finding this video I will get this done for the price of my new awning and pizza & beer for my helper. I have the very same power awning that is only 12 feet and this should be even more simple and quicker. Thank you so much for your great post. I’ll perhaps try to get some video and let you know how it went. 👍
