3 months ago i snorkelled there a few times, it was amazing! i was looking to see a turle and when i was about to give up 1 appeared and it was so beautiful
I've got straight windows, I notice yours are curved about 15 degrees, and the same with the air conditioner. It must be modern windows and appliances. Can I get a 90-degree edge unit instead of a 75-degree curved unit?
I really enjoyed your video having just spent 4 nights in O'Reillys Rainforest Retreat. The Box Log Falls look just incredible but probably a bit far for my old legs!!! Great photos too, thanks for sharing.
Been looking for solutions. Here in the US the new energy efficient windows open sideways, but can't find a unit for the window. Don't really have the space for a floor unit.
It has an Australian plug. I would imagine that with the correct power adapter plug you could use it in the US. www.auselectronicsdirect.com.au/usa-earthed-travel-adapter-with-2-usb-charge-ports?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwx-CyBhAqEiwAeOcTdXMlIHHXz0TxlRcRELej8mmfQGIBH_3PoadCaHk7C4og6iIKlUd3hhoCohYQAvD_BwE
I'm also keen to buy this AC, but my window openning width is 55.5cm. but the website photo says it's 60cm. however, the width of the unit is 41.5cm. do you think it fits in 55cm? from your video the fram doesn't look 7cm wide on the sides.
Hi there, very keen on purchasing this unit. The manual suggests a minimum window opening height of 900mm, I'm just a little short @835mm. Do you think the included frame could be modified DIY style to fit? Thanks a lot
Couldn’t be 100% sure. I’ve moved home since I did the review and the units are with someone else now. Probably best to speak to Kogan to see if they can answer that for you
That’s a window lock to prevent people opening the sliding window from the outside, install it in the window sill and turn it until it’s sits tightly. I’ve had my AC for 2 years and still goes well. The only prob I have is trying to get the panel off to clean the filter, it’s supposed to slide down after removing the screws.
I bought an old apartment & had gyprock installed, so window frame size has been reduced, will this impede the installation? As i noticed at 8.34 into your video i can see underneath the metal bracket APPEARS to be sitting lower than the frame of the ac unit itself? Would i need to adjust the frame in some way if thats the case or do you think it would not be feasible at all?
If anyone wonders about power consumption - fan only 15-30w, fan low 500w, fan high 730w, turbo 970w. There seems to be also a mode it uses when its close to temp where it draws 300 watts. Such large discreptencies in power consumption cannot really be explained by fan alone and I suspect this unit houses two or three compressors it uses in various configurations for noise/efficiency.... The smaller 1.6kw conditioner uses 360w in fan low and 509w on high fan
You certainly are aware of it, especially the first time you go in. We stay within the channel markers to reduce any issues with boat traffic but have seen plenty of jetskis that don’t follow the rules, so you have to be super vigilant when surfacing. But on clear days with great visibility, the risk is worth the reward when diving
Do you know which size you have? There's a Max and a normal version, SKU TE-HNB-001 or 002. Not a huge difference in size but I'd like to know. Thanks.
i have installed the "smaller" 1.6kw airconditioner now too. Let me know if anyone needs comparison advice. The noise level is the same in terms of db between the two but the smaller one imho has a more pleasant slightly higher pitched compressor. i can whatsapp a couple of videos if needed

Not that I am aware of. It could potentially fit back further in the frame on the outside lip if there was money screen or anything in the way but it would only save you a couple of inches I’m guessing.
I just installed mine into a wooden framed window, its working great, i unscrewed the removable brackets, put some extra holes in the frame and just screwed the frame into the sill top and bottom, old style windows that fold outwards, i chose to cut the brackets and remove one of them for a better fit, easy to putty up screw holes and replace the window brackets if i need to restore the window in the future
Awesome video, keen to get one but was very disappointed in the performance of at portable unit I got recently. Does this unit get hot and create a negative air pressure?
If anyone is interested in noise : at night with fan on 1 device is 62-63db C-weighted right in front and 60db 2m away. Subjectively its slightly more noisy than a split system.
unfortunately i had the unit on last night and it seems to make a buzzing noise every 15 seconds or so for 1 second. Its really quite annoying. Has anyone had this and knows how to fix it? I dont think its the compressor briefly turning on - the unit can be in turbo and not have this noise for ages sometimes. other times its there for a long time. i actually just turned the unit on, heated room to 28C, cooled it down to 22C and cant really reproduce this buzzing edit: Stuffed the windowframe between AC with foam and this reduced the buzz quite a bit. Buzz seems to be created by when the room is cool enough to not really need AC the compressor will just start for 1-2seconds and switch straight off so just setting the AC to a bit lower temperature fixes it. But its bearable with the foam now anyway.
