Have you had to replace the radiator yet? I cannot find a new radiator for our 1970 F-600 330ci. On LMC truck all they have is ones for F-100, F-250 and F-350.
@@mintyman1968 I just found the brand new radiator. It is on the "radiatorexpress" website. They want $1200 for it though. I guess they call our truck a 1969 F600 5.4L, instead of a 1970 330c.i. I guess that's how we find parts for our trucks now. ;p
Grew up on the right hand side of a many of those freightliner cabovers spent the first 10 years of my driving career in them ... I'm 54 now been 32 years since I started my own driving career now I spend my days in a pretty conferrable Volvo (yes I said it) but let me tell you this I wouldn't care if was going on 90 and in a wheelchair and someone had to help me in to one I would be there just to smell the smell of the good old diesel and feel the power of 400 horses running right there beside my right leg!!!!
Had my Dad known the 359's were to be discontinued in 1987. He would have waited instead of Custom Ordering 75 359's in 1986. But he assured me and my Brothers that the 5 1976 Peterbilt Patriots tha he owns will make up for it. 38 of the 75 '86's are still running. And i still have 4 of the '76 Patriots.
Back when trucks were trucks and drivers were drivers. Today we have computers on wheels and people to just hang on to the steering wheel having to watch videos on how to open trailer doors correctly. WHAT HAPPENED.
Worked in the Freightliner development shop on Columbia Blvd. in Portland when they developed these trucks. Originals had vertical headlights to fit the radiators. Later owned and drove one of these with a 3408 CAT and 13 Speed. High rear end gears never used top 2 gears. Would easily do over 100. 43 years OTR Mostly West coast. Great memories.
When trucking was trucking and it had class and style everyone drove very well and knew what they were doing a lot less screw ups they all talked and helped each other. Todays trucking is a joke like everything else I will always keep oldschool alive Cause oldschool is BETTER
The truck at 25 seconds is my dad’s old truck. He bought the truck when he was 27 years old. This was our family’s company.. Everett Trucking. My grandfather retired and my dad bought the company and it evolved to Western Carriers.
