One of greatest guitarists I've ever been blessed to listen to. He's a fine lutenist, also. His solo album "Profile" is an incredible whirlwind of genres and styles.

Early 80s he lost his band on their way to a festival, played a solo set on a new digital guitar in front of a few thousand people. Was incredible, won't forget it.

I have this dvd "Night of guitars" and Jan Akkerman blows them all away he is the Greatest Guitar and has been since the 70 s all styles but on a good night he is unbelievable
I really want to know if this song has a name/recording cause I love it. Did some digging and found the Night Of The Guitars 2001 DVD tracklist, which I pulled all the Jan Akkerman songs from and listened. No luck! If anyone knows or finds it, I'd be grateful to know.
He is as good as jan. Ik like jans funky style, i dont like hiss jazz style, dont like his slowstyle. I love jans rockstyle and funk style. this is one of his best videos.
