Would a Foti paddle be a good steering paddle to a small sailing canoe like the Holopuni or the Hobie Adventure Island or Hobie Tandem Island? I was considering buying one of those to use it as a emergency rudder in my Hobie Adventure.
Thanks Mel for a wonderful video... when I see my sister Rene Ayau... I, will show her this cool video!! Big Aloha Samson David aka Reynolds Ayau Jr. (early 70's). Waianae High School Hana St. Makaha Cornet store, Makaha Drive in, small mom pops store, gas station, Fog Cutter Bar and Grill, Angels Service Station. Shark Island and Turtles (Mt. Lahi' lahi) Cabanas where we learn to surf, fish and dive. Aloha
That was such a great video, I love what Gerry and Dave are doing for creativity and innovation. I just have to point out that rock, paper, scissors game at 4:35. WHAT ARE THE ODDS OF THAT!?!? FOUR TIMES IN A ROW THEY THROW THE SAME SHAPE!!
I have two Hokus and one Paea. The Hokus are like a really nice Porsche. A smooth performing, fast, and very comfortable paddle. The Paea is a completely different story! She's a dedicated race car. Fast, hard, and, I don't want to say uncomfortable, but that blade fully locks at the catch and does not move! If you want to transfer every ounce of energy into the face of the blade, this is the one. If you want to hit zone 4 as fast as possible, this will do the trick!
Man, I love this paddle.I have the hybrid version of this paddle. I have stiffer paddles, but this one gives you feedback unlike the really stiff paddles. I have two, one for OC1 and a longer one for OC6.
b/c we shrink as we age, I now need a new paddle. Plenty recommend this blade for OC1. Now to see what sizes she comes in. looking beautiful mahalo for all thought and planning you put into this paddle.
After hitting it for the first time at canoe club I’m loving the sport. I noticed we do long power strokes. I’m Looking for a paddle and in the search for the best option, this video is great.
I have received one of your Oha paddles, which I understand you have taken out of production. I need to replace its grip, the horizontal bar at the top of the handle? Do you have any of those grips left over? Camilo Pedrano
