Not sure why people are trying to push the narrative that Could and Aerith are in love when Zack is Clouds best friend. And Aerith is trying to be Tifa friend when she knows how Tifa feels about Cloud. So if Aerith and Cloud are together. This ruins the friendship between Cloud and Zack and it also ruins the friendship between Cloud and Tifa and between Tifa and Aerith. So it doesn't make sense to put Cloud with Aerith and besides all that. She dies. So in the end (just like the OG) it's still Cloud and Tifa
You know, Cloud would probably have an easier time saving Aerith if Masamune wasn't 8 - 10ft LONG!! Like, how is his chonky sword supposed to compete with that length?
okay, i'm on tifa team for 100% actually... But after playing Remake (didn't play Rebirth yet and i don't care if i got any spoilers), i know...i just know that Cloud and Aerith are made for each other... There are so many little details that Cloud (the devs actually) made to showing us that "Yeah, she's the one (aerith)...not her (tifa)" it makes me sad...but yeah im supporting Aerith now... and i can't wait for part 3 of this game...and i hope the devs, make Cloud and Aerith together T_T
I tried my best to maximize all my character relationships, so I thought that all the gold saucer dates with Aerith were scripted to be with her on your first playthrough. Turns out I just played in such a way that she was always my highest relationship
If it helps you sleep at night. Just remember tifa only described as 'childhood friend' relation to cloud even in DoC, meanwhile Aerith 'the girl engraved in Clouds heart forever' :)
@@KINDABERRY Kind of, she was going for a kiss in Gongaga (where Cloud barely moved, either of confusion or apprehention, it's unclear) which was interupted, and then at Golden Saucer where she fears she's "going ahead of herself". Cloud shortly after kisses her, true, but the fact that the dude beforehand asked about the other girl leaves a bad taste in my mouth. If we're getting a kiss between them I'd rather make it *their* moment with no mention of other parties, especially where it concerns their love life. I say this as a Clerith shipper btw, Clotis deserved better than what they've got.
He said nakama only one scenes if you didn't date aerith before(affection point not concern). Kiss is optional and didn't happen in mainstory just fanservice but cloud and aerith did hug each others and holding hand with interlock fingers by non-optional and it happened in main story.
It's not an alternate world. I'm devastated for realising this myself but Cloud never deflected Sephiroths blade. If he had, Aerith would not be lying unconcious on the floor and her ribbon and materia would not have fallen from her hair. :(
I've never sat and listened to Hollow because I think the vocal fry is annoying, but in another video, someone mentioned how Aerith's No Promises to Keep is a response to Cloud's Hollow, so I had to check it out. And they're right. This song is very much about Aerith. I think this warrants playing both games back to back to make sure one catches everything.

I still like it better that Zack died in crisis core saving cloud. And then is there to “walk Arith home” in advent children. And cloud is finally at peace knowing she’s safe and in good hands because he and Zack were best friends. 🥹😌. That version is infinitely more beautiful to me.
I really wouldn't call advent children's ending to be happy at all... she ends up stuck in the lifestream with a love she's already moved on from. While also being torn away from the person she wants to be with which is Cloud.

I really like cloud and Aerith relationship in the game. Their interaction is so cute and sweet. Their chemistry is amazing. Cloud and Aerith have similar lonely childhood. They are hope to have connection to other people but always be ignored. In some way, they are first person for each other whom willing to care and open up to commuicate. May be this reason, they can more understand and care the feelings for each other. In the game, we can see that Cloud have change most after he meet Aerith. Cloud want to know more this girl feeling (Talk to flower with her) .And willing cooperate with her (learn to high five). Aerith always tease him but I feel that he was enjoy. In other side, he can make soft encourage initiatively when Aerith feel hesitate, although he not good at expressing but he also willing to try. sometime clumsy but it always make Aerith relieved. In my think, the real cloud is always here when he with Aerith. I think this interaction is most appropriate for them. It simple but comfort and romantic. So i very like this .

Right from get go it’s clear Cloud fell and loves from that moment he meet Aerith only her. Tifa was past and he got over it. Hope Tifa will learn that in part 3 too
It hurts when she tells him, "It's like a second home," in the ending. That's also what she said about Shinra HQ in the dream scene from Remake when she didn't want him to worry. So my brain keeps wondering if this is Aerith's ghost describing the Lifestream that way to keep him from worrying or the Aerith he saved honestly describing the City of the Ancients that way. Either way, gotta give SE props for working yet another line from an optional Aerith scene into an important non-optional scene.
Don't know why, but Cloud & Aerith reminds me of Logan & Jean in the X-men Films. Like Aerith, Jean Grey died in the X-men films & like Cloud, Logan felt guilty for unable to prevent Jean Grey from getting killed. Additionally, Cloud & Aerith developing feelings for each other is similar to how Logan & Jean also develop feelings for each other.
I’m absolutely certain the only reason FF7 producers made Aerith die was because all of them are huge CloTif(or whatever the ship’s called) lovers and wanted them together. Is FF7 trying to tell me Cloud doesn’t love Aerith back?! It’s very very clear it’s mutual! I am a huge Clerith fangirl and whilst I get Aerith’s death is instrumental to the story, it’s heartbreaking that she is just some stepping stone or something for the beginning or such of Cloud and Tifa, when it’s very clear Aerith is the MUCH better option for him Like just look at how they interact. So precious! Every moment leaks proper hard crushes whilst Cloud looks more like just friends with Tifa Tifa couldn’t even break down Cloud’s walls, she failed to get over them. Aerith broke them down with a whole sledgehammer in just a few days. This is some serious soulmate shit
They decided somebody was going to die very early in development(allegedly it was gonna be Aerith or Barret I don't have a source on that so don't quote me) and since Aerith was picked Tifa was created to to fill the void in a sense. All I know for certain is Cloud, Aerith, Barret and Sephiroth were the characters that were created first which can be seen in pre release material and that Aya Brea, the main character of Parasite Eve, is basically female Cloud and her cop partner bears great resemblance to Barret. That game was originally conceived of as an FF7 prototype and then became it's own thing. If the producers or whoever else were dead set on Cloud and Tifa then at the very least the game or expanded material would've made the pairing definitive and it never was.
On the contrary, they are not cloltis, Aerith is cleary the favourite in Rebirth. They had her die because its the crux of FF7's plot. But they left the door open for things to happen. We will have to wait and see if they go like the OG or take a turn.

They love her so much that they went against the plot of the original to make a remake-reboot that give us the chance to save Aerith. If they loved tifa so muc to much they would have made cloud and tifa's relationship official by now
@@Motherfuc they have had almost 30 years to make cloti official. There is nothing in the lore that would make it look odd, it would be the natural progression for Cloud and Tifa. Yet, here we are.

Just finished Rebirth, and the ending! Got my mood at a low point...😢 From reading some of the points others made, the whole "Cloud successfully saving Aerith created another timeline" is very interesting and gives me a new perspective. I always thought that was just in Cloud's head, and also the times he "sees" Aerith after her "death". There's also no cutscene for when Cloud dropped Aerith into the lake. Maybe it meant something? Maybe the "Sephiroth killed Aerith" timeline and the "Cloud saved Aerith" timeline will merge in part 3 because "Reunion"? Who knows. I'm still sad that Aerith died.😢 May need to replay Remake to heal.
spoilers for those who hadn't seen FFX ending- 15:09 - in FFX's Japanese ending version, Yuna says "thank you" to Tidus. in the western version, Yuna says "I love you". i know it's quite a stretch, but still..
The vibes of those two scenes are so similar, I'm glad someone else noticed it! I admit I don't know a lot of Japanese, but I have looked up stuff about X's ending and from everything I've seen, the localization is seen as "good/correct". Dunno how or why, but Yuna's thank you WAS supposed to subtly be a love confession, hence us getting a more direct translation in English, as we would never assume thanks = love. Anyway, what this tells me is that we were ROBBED of an official "I love you" from Aerith in this scene.
Its not stectch at all, its one of the things lost in localization. Just like the Nakama word Cloud uses on the no GS date Church scene. It denotes a friendship relation, we dont have that direct connotation in the English version, its more of a read-the-scene iteration.
