Great Vid Bro, Just bought one of these so great to see your version. If you thing those wires are untidy you should see mine.....they look like a gutted turtle.
ow that's how gunmetal comes out :o i was thinking about either going gunmetal or metalic red and in the end went metalic red as the gunmetal didn't really look like what i wanted in pictures (Bright gunmetal seemed closer to what i was looking for but not in stock at the shops i tend to use >.<). no offense but i'm glad i went metalic red, i wanted it to pop and the gunmetal seems...almost stealthy. and i've spent month's tightning up the BT-01 at this point. my findings : if you want less slop in the steering/rear order some tamiya 50875 ball end connectors, these are tighter then the stock one's but the stock ones are about 5mm shorter so you'll have to shorten them, if you wanna find your own solution note the ball end connectors are shorter then normal! (reduces front to back movement). i'd also try to get a shim pack (i found a 3S racing shim pack that comes with 0.1/0.15/0.2/0.25/0.3 10 each for about 5 bucks) and shim the arm's and axles to reduce movement (reduces front to back and in / out movement). last the wheels moving up and down freely in the arm's, to reduce this i filed off a bit off the top and bottom peg to cause the cap piece to clamp it to the suspention ball, as this means whenever the wheel turns the suspention ball turns, might be good to replace them with metal ones but this last tweak killed 99% of the rear slop for me. it is weird that you can change the toe in / out when that setting changes massively wile driving stock :P and my god yes the bumper mounts, i wanted to use the rear bumper to mount the body but i chose not to because i think it'll just bounce all over the place it feels so increadibly weak, i tend to pick my TT-02 up by the front bumper but i have no faith that is a long term solution for the BT-01.
You should watch H Mart he talks place that he's advertised that has hop ups for the bt01 there's a company he talks about that shows the hop-up parts for bt01.
The slop in these try level kits is par for course. TT02 has same issues. Plastics are cheap and will need modification I've shimmed and installed some aluminum hop ups. Hoping to road test this week!
I've already made it 4wd . I had to make my own part for the diff as no one sells the MA-12 part that comes with it. Just haven't done a video on it. Parts for this chassis are hard to find here in Australia
Always wondered about those body magnets🤔 some questionable design choices. That slop is inexcusable. I’m sure you’ll get that thing dialed in. Your off to a good start in the looks department. Gorgeous 👍
Bro those rims on the evo! Beautiful. Well done on both cars. That celica was ripping through those pebbles. You keep inspiring me to get a kit. Honestly I’m thinking of doing the rally celica as well. Looks super fun. Thanks for the info. Take care brother ✌🏼
Hi mate, The one i have is part (#TM 303) M chassis Honda civic SI. Here's a link to the one I brought twokeysrcparts.com.au/product/clear-body-shell-classic-honda-civic-si-for-110-rc-mini-tamiya-m05-etc-210mm/ Any M chassis body can be made to fit with a 210mm wheelbase. This specific one is for the tamiya m05 chassis.
Bro you get me so excited about tamiya. Your cars look awesome! That evo with the metal all around. Beautiful 👌. I’m loving the way you’re getting into the details. Looks like you’re really dialing them in. Very interesting about the front diff. I still haven’t used a program card. Anyway looking forward to seeing these cars evolve. Keep up the great work 👍✌🏼
Hi thanks 🙏 would it be much it's only because I bought this car with couple of 3s thinking I was clever but now kinda regret it as it's a bit hot to handle 😂
Get that wing outa here! I love it! Excellent job! I need to stop dragging my a$$ and get one . Very impressed. Curious how you’re gonna fix the holes on the body. May sound tacky but how about a high gloss high quality white sticker. Use a hole puncher to make them circular🤷🏽♂️. Anyway well done
I might just put some clear silcone in there and paint it ps-1 white . ill try out on some scrap i cut off first. Get a TT-02 Rangoli ! Im looking foward to seeing a video on it and your thoughts.
The bare spot in the front is where the spur gear would go if it was turned around. It's a cheap design flaw by Tamiya in my opinion, but it can be covered with a bit of rag and some Shoe Goo. I had to do that for the gear cover to fit a big pinion on mine. Oil shocks and bearings are a must on these cars too. Makes a world of difference. Nice Yota' man!
@@DIFFLOCKERS Yep, And I like your fix for the front lower arms that keep popping off. Super annoying issue with the TT02, but they aren't meant to be driven hard like we do.. so I don't get too upset about it. Have fun out there!
I found a trick that works for the steering servo issue. Run the dust cover and cut a piece of panty hose (about the length of the red chassis bar) then stretch it over the chassis and tuck the front in towards the center, so there's no gap. It's only good for a single run but it works! Also, you should be able to run foams if you cut the corners down but they may fit right away since you cut the body. Hope that helps!
