I have been a fan of The Three Degrees since 'Dirty ol'man' was released in The Netherlands in December 1973. The song went to No 1 in The Netherlands and Belgium early 1974. That's when their international success started. It was also the start of the popularity of the Phillysound overhere. Back then a Dutch DJ (Ferry Maat) used 'When will I see you again' at the end of his weekly radioshow. CBS then decided to release 'When will I see you again' als the runnewr up for 'Dirty ol'man'. The song became a huge hit and not long after that the song was released in the UK (went to No 1 in August 1974), in the US (No 2) and it won the gold prize at the 3rd Annual Tokyo Music Festival. 'When will I see you again' (btw, every sentence of the song is a question), became The Three Degrees 's signature song. And they still perform the song (live) as one of the last songs in their concerts. They still tour (mostly Europe and Japan) and perform for sold out places. I agree this is safe and that the distilled water wipe down will remove any residue. I did it with a similar alcohol based screen cleanser and brought two rare but unlistenable LPs back to life. No damage or degradation to the record, but now sound great…90% better. Lots of doctrine voodo out there, all aimed at keeping us chasing the holy grail device or overpriced cleanser. Micro fiber works as well as anything I’ve heard despite superstition to the contrary. This is a good tip ‘y’all.
Change The Glow Of Love really put Luther out there in a global way. Coincidentally Gwen Guthrie and Luther sang together on a few sessions during rhe late 1970's. Quincy Jones 1978 Sounds... album they dueted on a remake of Takin' It To The Streets. Also check out a studio group called CHARME 1979 Let It In album. Gwen sings a song Never Gonna Let You Go with Luther in the background almost sounds like a duet
The point of the alcohol is to break the surface tension to make the liquid get i to the grooves. Simple green and other similar stuff on spray bottles already has additives to do this.
Good job Tavis - I use a similar method, but with Blue Dawn. I may try the Simple Green - I do it at the sink, though, thoroughly wetting the record, hitting it with the solution from a spray bottle, and I also use a very fine Italian horse-hair brush that really does a great job getting in and cleaning the grooves. But again - love this video.

I agree that the middle is no place to stay, but with the current political setup I cannot be convinced that either major candidate (Trump or Harris) is capable of doing the intense work required of a president well. Neither are good moral compasses for the nation or good representatives of our nation abroad. There exists plenty of candidates on both sides of the aisle that would do well as president, but none of them are currently their tickets choices.

Aside from the left and media doing everything possible to convince people Trump was a failure as president, our beautiful country was in great shape when he was in office. This is fact, not opinion. You don’t have to like the guy, but the country, and world were in much better shape 5 yrs ago than it is now. His major policies are spot on. I always try and tell people to vote policy, not candidate, and if that was the case there honestly is no choice here

I hope whoever wins does the county good, and it very well may be Trump doing the economy etc. better, but I am of the inclination to prefer candidate over policy, especially when the candidate is not a uniter. Policies don't last long in a divided nation. Glad you're using your vote to help the candidate you believe is more fit to run the country.

Hey Travis, thanks for this! The only thing I might add is use the 300K viscosity silicone. Went on some high-end turntable sites and that seems to be the preference. Slightly thinner than the 500K. 1:39
Don't believe the hype ;) There is nothing fancy or difficult about cleaning records. They're just PVC. There is an established method that is very simple and effective. Distilled water, Alcohol (or not) and a surfactant. Proper proportions. Propers brushes. Whether you use a bath like a spin clean or ultrasonic or a manual or automatic spinning platter and a vaccuum its the same idea. Wet down the record with the cleaning solution, remove the cleaning solution and then rinse and dry. No need for shortcuts. I also prefer glass or metal bowls to plastic since they will not absorb the grime or leach plastics. For heavily soiled thrift store or garage sale albums I like the idea of a bath in luke warm water to remove/loosen deep embedded grime, then a spin on the DIY vaccuum system that didn't cost me anywhere near $500. Shop vacs are cheap. Distilled water, 99% Alcohol and the surfactant or not expensive either.....you can do it.
