WELCOME to my channel! Get lost in my world of traveler’s notebooks, papers, pens, tutorials, hauls, books (the written word in general)

and organized planning all in the pursuit of finding a healthy balanced in life. I am a soul searcher. The word “wright” means to build. I have

chosen the name Wrightyourlife, so I will always remember that with every decision I make, and everyone that I don't, I am in a constant

state of writing and building my life. I could never have imagined that I would further my education after college by watching tutorials on

RU-vid. My hopes for this channel are to do the same for others looking to grow and wright their own lives. Interested? Don't forget to

subscribe for updates on new videos posted every week. Feel free to leave questions and comments down below :)

Thanks,

Oo I liked the MD memo blocks you used I think it was called. I'm always on the lookout on how to use my large sticky notes I accidentally bought, too, so if you have any ideas on how to use those really big ones, I'm all ears. As an aside, I am so happy to be writerly friends with you too. I wouldn't have been writing half as much if you didn't hold me accountable lol.

Consider me confused. Do those really have 46 (A6) *pages* (= 23 sheets), or do they have 46 A5 "pages" (= two-A6-page spreads)? Leuchtturm seems to call the latter "pages" in this case (which would result in 92 A6 pages). At least that's what some information on their website seems to indicate (there seems to be a mention of a whole month of two-page spreads in one journal). Honestly, 23 A6 sheets would be a bit ridiculous.

If you draw additional horizontal lines and use a darker pen, you can use the 'International Holidays' page spread as a habit tracker (or similar). Extra bonus: The months are already there. In this planner, you already have the 'Project Plan' pages which work that way, but an additional tracker might still come handy. Oh, and UTC (Universal Time Coordinated) is basically the same as GMT (Greenwich Mean Time), so the times are for England/UK (disregarding summer time). But that shouldn't affect moon phases in the same hemisphere.
@charmedvenuss
@charmedvenuss 23 дня назад
honestly when it comes to writing goals I don't even count words, I mark how much time I want to spend on the project and track how many hours i spent on it. Thats how I'm gonna finish the book anyway, spending the hours working on it!

This was fun to watch. It's always facinating seeing how people talk out their plans on how they are implementing a system. Using google calender doesn't mean you are cheating on your analog systems. I also have that and my paper planner's monthy calender syncked just in case I need to know the plans but the paper calender is not at hand. They also work as backups for each other in case the paper planner is lost or google is shot down. I do appreciate you didn't have any background music going on this time. It's so much easier to consentrate when it's just talking. Thanks again for a lovely episode.

I am wondering if you track the amount of time needed for you to complete certain repetitive tasks, since you mark them by when you start and end. Also a lot of your tasks look to be procedural. How do you quickly identify which are the ongoing tasks? I know you use asterisks to make them completed which is good. I just use asterisks in general to mark them as tasks since I was in middle school. A few years back, I learned the circle-slash method used by the Navy nuke folks I work with, and I think it’s an excellent way to not lose track. I only do that when things get serious though. Google calendar is amazing :D I started using them when they came out years ago, and first thing I did was put in the birthdays of all the important people in my life, and make them recurring. Finally, love your pens! We have a lot of those, I bought a multicolor pack for coloring, but the 0.7mm Zento limited edition(found them at Target) is really nice! Sorry, I am a big pen geek.

I'm so stoked that this approach is still working for you! I've really enjoyed watching how you've taken it and have made it your own. Team Google Calendar for the win! I'll always have an analog calendar because I love the paper record, but for day/time specific stuff, there are just so many things that digital calendars offer. My school district uses Google for Education, so my entire life is synced up and I just find it so practical and functional. Since you mentioned it, the sticky notes I use are the MD grid. I also have the Traveler's Company sticky note insert. Lastly, I love that you have said, "and then and then and then!!!" in more than one video recently. Such a great movie. 😂

It’s also A6 but not as wide” - then it’s not A6. The system works like this: A0 is the largest, A1 is half of an A0, A2 is half an A1, and so forth. An A6 has to be half the size of an A5, if it’s narrower then it’s a different system. Now, is this a gimmick? Yes, the same way the A5 BuJo-specific notebook also is. I do bullet journaling and don’t have to buy the specific Leuchturm 1917 notebook to practice it, all I need is paper!

Currently, I use Field Notes and have a wonderful leather cover that allows me to easily carry my Field Notes along with my cards, money and pen in my back pocket. It's essentially my wallet with a pocket notebook! I ordered these BuJo Pocket notebooks and they are SO nice. I like everything about them. The quality, the smart grid, the size for writing and the covers. Only problem, I cannot find leather cover that will fit these as they are wider than a Field Notes and other pocket notebooks. I've tried several. The BuJo pocket notebook by itself easily fits in my back pocket, but any cover that comes close to fitting this notebook makes it too large for the back pocket. As much as I love these BuJo pocket notebooks, not having a cover to use as a wallet it a deal breaker. Great review though. I may still use these as small dedicated pocket notebooks, just not as my EDC.

What does it mean to "activate" a task? Is that different than the day you wrote it down? Or is it the day you were hoping to get it done? Sorry if you said that in the video and I missed it...
@amidst_the_grey
@amidst_the_grey Месяц назад
Hopefully Sylvia will come back and answer this one for herself, but I'll tell you how I do it. For me, activating a task means that I have set an intention to make that task a priority. I may not finish that day, but the dot is a visual cue for me that the item is one that I want in my awareness. I'll add the first date once I activate it and the second date when I actually finish or resolve the item. I find adding both dates to be extremely helpful because sometimes I have an intention to make something a priority, but don't actually finish until days later. Sometimes that's just because stuff comes up, but other times it's because I'm feeling some resistance; I know it's important to me, but I'm still putting it off. When that happens, I find it useful to take some time to sift through my feelings and get to the root of the issue. This process has really contributed to my mental well-being because I end up working through things I may not have otherwise considered. Hope that helps.

I am a fan of A6 and B6 notebooks - especially with a lot of pages, so Nanami Seven Seas and Stalogy are the type of books I prefer. Fieldnotes are amazing, and I like the softcover Moleskine. The Pocket looks nice, but I was taken aback by the approach to the marketing for this one, and my view on it is rather negative. The BulletJournal Pocket just stood out as very gimmicky to me because of the hype around the size. Yes, it’s A6… it’s supposed to be half of an A5 that’s what it is. It honestly only has the specific dotted indicators and numbered pages going for it. Yet page numbers on a 45-page book seems illogical to me. Numbering those pages yourself takes less than 5 min, and doesn’t seem worth it, compared to their other notebooks that have more numbered pages. And it is very expensive for what it offers, with inferior paper compared to the the books in the LT line or even the A5 bullet journal. It doesn’t really feel like a competitor, it seems like another book that’s meant for a specific target audience and it succeeds at that.
