Hi! i'm Jess and I tend to move around the world quite a bit to bring more life into my life! After doing the 9-5 for many years, I decided to bring as many adventures as possible whilst working on my laptop. I am passionate about storytelling, people and what makes them "move". Talking mostly on here about my favourite adventure yet: hiking the Camino de Santiago. I have done it twice so far, Portuguese and Frances and hopefully many more to come! Subscribe for tips, real talk about my trips and bringing more joy into life :) Let's see what happens, Jessi

@@jessimoves I’m just in panic about get bug I already have the backpack like yours and my heat is orange heheh I’m not scary almost about nothing only about the bugs hehehe. I will get in Porto on August 29 Gratitude
@@lilipompom5 I’m excited for you! Don’t let the bed bugs worry you too much. I would advise always using a bed sheet, even the ones you get at the Albergue. You can spray your sleeping bag with an insecticide. Don’t put your backpack or anything else on your bed/mattress as the bugs are usually in there and will then travel with you :) But I have done the Camino twice and only got it one single time. Good luck!
haha too funny, my Omi always would tell us that too "you're not made of sugar!" Good way to describe the "parallel universe". I guess like you said it's about detachment, which even means for the short encounters with people on the camino. We have to understand that whatever blessing we get from them, we need to be open to other blessing we will also get from new people too. Right now, I am preparing for our Camino - not sure yet which one will are doing, haha. I keep changing my mind. But I have time to straighten all that out yet. Right now, I'm focusing walking around where I live - which is all big hills and long stretches in the Southern Tier of NY State.
👏👏👏awesome clip🎬🎥😁😄😃….. who would of thought something so hard to do could look so much fun & thinking rewarding & spiritual too⁉️🤗 I’m Time poor & not young n fit as you legend so by 🚲🚴♀️it is 👍Del Norte this May/June & so excited. 😆 😊
Spot on! It is super challenging physically, but I didn’t think it would bring so much spiritual growth as well. And be fun! Have the best time on your 🚲 on the Camino del Norte!! 🎉
I did the French Camino in October/November and the Portuguese one in August/September. I think all these times were great. I have a packing video for my October November Camino as well to show what I packed there. Hope this helps! 🎒
When I hiked el Camino Frances in 2015 I was spending about 20-30€ a day, it was fantastic. Also it looks like the pilgrim office in Santiago has changed there.
@@jessimoves definitely:) sharing a glass of wine, or going out to dinner with other pilgrims is the best! I think I asked in one of your previous videos, but, do you have another Camino planned??
Yes! It's cheaper than my rent too 😅 That's much more affordable than what I was expecting but Iike you said it depends on your preferences and level of comfort. Did you get good quality sleep in the shared rooms, did you not get disturbed by others?
Living on the Camino is the ultimate goal here! :) Absolutely, you can do the Camino on a budget or more comfortable. I love the low budget experience. The first nights in the shared rooms were difficult, but you get used to it! Earplugs become your best friend.
Also, I cycled and my wife hiked, cycling by yourself is definitely much more isolating because you're moving more quickly by people, so you only meet a few people but I did meet some, this time I'm going back to cycle from Pamplona and then I'm going to train back and Hike from León, so both experiences😊
@jessimoves yes, many say walking the Camino is best done alone, cycling it is maybe best done with some friends, I did meet a few other cyclists, but was definitely somewhat isolating. Going back with 2 friends.
Do you mean the whole trip or per day? You’re able to lay with card almost everywhere. I would always have around 50 Euros handy for the Albergues, donativos or tips.
Nice video! I went there last summer with a 16kg backpack (for a lot of reason actually) aha my foot was completely destroyed aha take a look at my documentary if you want :) Keep going!
Camino friends: Would you take someone else with you on the Camino? First-Timers: Are you planning to walk solo or start the pilgrimage with other people? So curious to hear!
Thank you glad it helped! I bought it in Australia in a store, but there are alot of similar ones online. If you want to look for yellow bucket hat terry cotton :) I absolutely love it.
...beautiful little list, Jessi, and I agree, very useful tips! I walked the camino twice (2005 and 2010), and I did it without a phone or camera, and I only sent once a week a round email to all my friends and family, to report a bit, how I'm doing... I also never booked a bed in advance... instead I built up a complete trust, that I will always find a bed, which was true. I even lost my camino guide book on the way, and decided not to go back to find it, or buy a new one, as by then I had learned, that I don't need it... there are arrows everywhere, I can ask by-passers, and I also just have to always walk westwards - I loved that simplicity so much!! 💖
Oh I couldn't agree more! Thanks for sharing. I find even the locals are so helpful. When I started walking down a non-camino path, an old spanish lady came out of her house to tell me the right way. Our senses are so much more focused if there is no phone involved. Having said that, I would probably take my phone with me for the next one, just to document more :) But agreed, the simplicity of the camino is one of the best parts about it.
