This album needed two more five minute songs, and one interlude replaced with a third, four-minute song. It feels like it's a little empty. It certainly doesn't feel like there are fifteen songs- especially since one-third of them are the interludes. It needs a few more songs to feel like a Nothing More album.
Nothing more is one of my favorite bands but even I'll agree they made too many interludes for carnal and the feature with David draiman should've been a standalone single like they've done before with songs like don't stop with Jacoby shaddix and best times with lacey sturm too many features and too many interludes on carnal. The only interlude that I thought was the best was heart it was a complete instrumental masterpiece imo. Spirits is my favorite nomo album.
Masterpiece! Still nothing like it. Creative. Nothing nearly as unique in the cookie cutter, sterile music industry today. Alot of good bands today but all the tunings, production and styles are the same. White zombie was a gateway band for me. Got me into more extreme metal. Truly unique band. After ASTROcreep they were no longer a band and that's what ended it.

I was actually at the Brisbane show - the very last show of the tour- and at barricade watching him announce it was just going to be his last show- heart breaking but so awesome! so hearing your analysis of the movie alone it's really really cool :) Rock on Guys
I respect your guys opinions on the album. This is actually my fav nothing more album. I just think you went into the album expecting something the album wasn't trying to be. I personally like the interludes, it gives the album a ton of atmosphere and some awesome world building and makes the album feel like a cohesive story. Stuck was actually my least favs on there. I think my fav was existential dread, give it time and heart. I loved this review tho. I like seeing other opinions on it. much love keep it up.

No mentions of “Wound” or “Grime”? Great review but those songs are just sooo good! Even though “Grime” has a bit of cleans, it’s definitely the heaviest song on the album. Mercedes does most of the low death metal growls in the background and “Grime” is full of them and an awesome breakdown. Fan-fucking-tastic!
I've always thought this was their best , bought it when it came out. I also saw them supporting Guns and Rose's (who were over an hour late and just not as good) at Wembley stadium in 1991 or something and the Pretty hate machine songs were way heavier and better live , their love of guitar noise was much more evident.
Hey dudes! Just discovered your channel. Self titled or Tripod is for sure my least favorite album. I know a lot of fans that like it the most but I just find it kinda blah. Especially compared to Dirt and JOF. It’s the end of an era and I enjoy that it’s more Layne music but it’s def their weakest. It’s too bad Layne went the way he did because they could have come back with something incredible after this album.
I am sooooo stoked for this tour!! Can’t believe it’s happening. I am truly happy for Dallas and the bois. I can’t imagine their excitement. Catch y’all in NC this May 🤘🏻😈
