I hope the oilers get the cup. I was laughing my butt off at the beginning of the season when they were the worst team in the nhl for a few weeks, i was making memes about them and laughing and pointing at them, "they will not even get into the playoffs 🤣" i said as they lost to the sharks. But ever since then, the way they bounced back, and played a mostly cleaner game than florida, they are the team i cheer for, mcdavid deserves a cup.
Before I became a Habs fan in 2002 or so, I used to cheer for the 🇺🇸🐆 Cats for the most of my childhood. And although as a Finn 🇫🇮 I'd prefer to see 🇨🇦 Canadian teams to win the Stanley Cup, Calgary is my secondary favourite team, so it's quite logical who I can cheer for (and I don't like arrogant players that much)...
Hi Neil and I am rooting for Florida is because They have never won a Stanley Cup final before in there hole hockey franchise and I thanks they should definitely earn it this year and Edmonton has won a Stanley Cup before and Florida hasn't so i think they deserve it
Even the players don't care sbout all-stars anymore. Skip it, give the players a rest and we get a better season. For better hockey. Grt rid of some games, maybe makr it 76-78 games instead. Give them some more rest sometimes. Make the change for the crowd also. Shorten the the pauses to 15 minutes. Skip every damn powerbreak or make it just 1 halfway through. Ban the signs in the stands, people begging for stuff and other shit. If you do that you have a better experience. North Americans have ruined sports because of everything is business. No soul, no heart no happiness. NHL just focus everything else not hockey anymore.
Dead on wit the Flyers SS jersey at #1! My second would be the Devis SS jersey. Purely biased call there. Never could find the darn thing to buy in my size! Adidas brand never seemed to show up. Fanatics, yeah for a while, but if I’m going down with the $$ for a SS jersey, I want the best! Hard to die on that hill sometimes.
I would love to see Connor finally get his Cup but mannn...Florida is just too stacked. Both teams are deserving, it's tough I had Dallas and Carolina pegged but lost money on that bet so apparently I know nothing.
I’m not a fan of any of the teams so for me I’ll be happy with whoever wins the cup but I will be cheering that little bit more for the oilers here is my reasoning. For McDavid of course and of course my surname is McLeod and Ryan McLeod plays for the oilers and probably somewhere we are related on a family tree haha and because this might be only time the oilers get to a SC final for a long time a think the panthers have a really good team and if they stay together they will be back in more SC finals more often. So based on this GO OILERS
My aunt used to work at the (formerly known) Bank Atlantic Center back in the day when the Panthers were unable to draw more than 2,000 fans. She used to get me in for free as there were so many empty seats and that’s how my love for the Panthers started. Fast forward to 2024 and South Florida is a hockey town. Thats the hottest ticket in town drawing better than our beloved Miami Heat. The 180 this team has done to turn a city where there are no hockey backgrounds into generating genuine interest blows my mind to this day. That 8 year old that used to attend the empty games at Bank Atlantic Center always dreamt of seeing his team win the Stanley Cup, this year I might just see it happen. Good luck to the Oilers, but Let’s Go Panthers!
No real answer here, and I'm definitely missing points, but here's a for/against list that I've thrown together: Edmonton For: - Canadian team - More Canadians on the roster - McDavid gets a Cup (silences idiotic, controversial writers that use his lack of a Cup as a strike against him being a generational player; based on that logic, Pat Maroon could be a generational player... mini rant over) - Add to Evander Kane redemption story - Corey Perry - Fewer points in regular season (slight "underdog") - Hyman looks better on a team that isn't your team's rival - Most goals for (if you like scoring) Against: - Stockpiled 1st overalls and it took this long to get to the Stanley Cup Final - already won multiple Cups - Corey Perry - Outscoring their inconsistent goaltending with a +1 differential 5 on 5 - Vocal fanbase - Stumbled in to 2 of the greatest players in hockey history (Gretzky and McDavid) Florida For: - No Cups - Growing, yet less typical hockey market - Matthew Tkachuk - Consistent play all around - Redemption story from last year - Less vocal fanbase Against: - Matthew Tkachuk - The state has had enough success in recent years - Had their chance last year - More people will likely be upset if they win based on fanbase size
As an oilers fan who starting watching when i was 8 when Nuge was drafted (who is also my favorite player) ive seen our lowest lows and our highest highs and i honestly believe this is the best team we've had in the last decade. Im now 19 and watching my favorite team in a cup final.even if we lose, this playoff run has been such a chaotic and fun roller coaster and im proud of these boys and i cant wait for Saturday. LETS GO OILERS do it for Ben and Joey!
I’m a flames fan and I’m cheering for the Oilers, we need the cup in Canada. That Edmonton team deserves it especially for how they bounced back in the regular season
Let’s go Oilers us Oilers fans have been through the decade of darkness horrible season after horrible season but we’ve been loyal the whole time And the oilers are playing for little Ben the super fan who lost his battle with Cancer he’s looking from the heavens on this teams run screaming “play La Bamba Baby” plus the Oilers were 31 ranked team back in Early November the fact they didn’t just write this season off and actually came together and rallied back is something impressive
In the same boat here, Neil. I'm a Carolina fan and was really hoping for a final between the Stars and Hurricanes this year. Edmonton was the team Carolina defeated to win their first cup in 2006, and the Panthers swept us last year. Along with that, I'd probably consider the Calgary Flames to be my favorite Canadian team, mostly due to their amazing jerseys and I liked the Tkachuck/Gaudreau duo when they played. On one hand, it would be great to see another southern team win, but it would also mean that the Panthers are now (statistically) more successful than the Canes. For Edmonton, however, I'd love to see the cup pressure removed from McDavid's shoulders and for the Canadian fans to celebrate a cup. I've been flip-flopping all week, but I'm probably rooting for the Oilers by Saturday.
Had trimalleolar ankle fracture in Indonesia. Surgery and a week in Hospital cost 19000 € wich is 20000 USD. In the end my travelinsurrance payed for everything, at least they had to pay for an business class upgrade. Back in Germany my regular Insurrance payed for special compression socks. They made a 3D Scan of the leg, the socks were exclusivly made for me.
I don't like either of these teams I have never rooted for either but for the first time in my life I am rooting for Edmondson because I really hate Florida
I really like this year's matchup. Edmonton, looking to immortalize McDavid and Drycitle into the Stanley Cup. Coming back after a horrendous start to the season, they were at their lowest point yet. They would also bring the cup back to Canada for the first time since 1993. Meanwhile we have Florida, a redemption story for the ages. Coming off a Cinderella story that ran out of gas in the final against Vegas, they now return stronger than ever to bring the Stanley Cup to South Florida for the first time ever! While I am rooting for the Panthers to complete the redemption story, I wish Edenton good luck, but not too much. May the best team win, and lift Lord Stanley's cup.
I will be cheering for the Oilers for this particular cup final. I cheer for them the rest of the time, but I'll be cheering for them in the cup final too. :D
I’m an Islander fan who lives in the Tampa Bay Area and can’t stand the Boltz so I want to support the Panthers mainly because they are the Florida version of the rags. Yet the Tampa Bay region has more rinks with multiple teams then we had on Long Island growing up. So it’s a love hate cup. The oilers v panthers I want to go by the copied colors but love Bots tears so Let’s go Panthers!
Im an Oiler fan but I love ur Panthers. It will suck if we dont win but if there's one team I'd like to see to win beside Edmonton its Florida. Good luck man!!!
