When I retire at 65, I’d like to permanently move overseas to another country from the US for lots of reasons. Could I teach English online at that age going forward? I’ll have Social Security, a pension and a 403b to live on anyway (about $2,500USD total a month from them). That would be a cool deal to teach overseas, especially online. Thanks.

how's this for a plan: teaching for 1-2 years, learn some Thai language (I know its not easy), make connections with key people, then transition into something like education industry, academia, or own business.
I'm currently going for a degree in education right now. In July I spent a month in Yogyakarta Indonesia teaching through a program my university offers. I have fallen in love with the country and the idea of teaching there. I've even pretty much been offered a job to teach at the international school I was teaching at in July. I still havent completely decided and my parents are very against it, but my mind leans towards taking the job.
Unlike westerners, in Vietnam when a girl is married, they expect the body count to be zero - a virgin (or one if you count the groom). So the idea of casual dating is a foreign concept. Only prostitutes and scammers are more likely to be on a dating app.
Obviously its the vietnamese experience. Prostitutes are very common throughout Asia and i bet their cheaper than the scams they just went through. Most women are trying to get free food or money out of men . If men weren't trying to get yall , yall would complain about that to. Just marry your girlfriends and mòve to a secluded island. 😂
Normal Vietnamese girl will want you to pick the place and what what you will be doing together. If they really want to meet you, they will want you to lead. Even if you do not know the area.

You lost last me when you judged your friend who has a family and he's not making lost of money. Money is not everything, maybe your friend is happy. Stop doing that bro! Judging or comparing what you're doing to others. Everyone is not after the almighty dollar. I have met and lived with enough of "rich" people with cash who're poor in life. I agree with that part about not having a plan. I read several stories of people working abroad where they were basically just taking an extended vacation, partying, drinking. One guy had less than $1000 in his account despite working for a long time, another person came back and had no opportunities so he just worked in construction at a minimum wage $20/hr. All those years wasted which proves this uploader's point.
ehm ehm i Visited in 2023 and I really enjoyed the place! I was not there during the weekend. I do not know what you are looking for when you are traveling but Vung Tau and Qhi Nhon are two places I really enjoyed. More than Danang and Nha Trang. I had that little feeling of discovering something new, something a little different and out of the usual tourist route

Hey David does this only to apply to people who have stayed close to or over 30 days? I’d wanna go to Bali maybe 2-3 days days after landing in Thailand so when I come back to Thailand I’d have to get this permit even though I only spent maybe 2-3 days in Thailand
The same scam has happened to me in Saigon. I met a girl on tinder and she told me to meet up in a bar for a date and gave me the address so I went there and then she met me and took me to a bar called "diamond bar" inside the alleyway. It's more like a counter bar and she told me to order some drinks, fruit and laughing gas balloons. Eventually, I realised that it's some kind of a scam and she was trying to make me buy more so I said no and the bill was 1751000 vnd. How do I report this scam?
Getting stuck is in the mind. I'm not sure this is about geography. I know people who have traveled the world, and they're boring to talk to. Their mind is stuck. Freedom comes from within, not without. Walking around a busy Vietnam street, where the noise is unbearable, I'd feel stuck there. It is a good idea to leverage your time, and leverage your salary so that you are not on a treadmill, as you say, but being stuck is truly all in the mind.
This happend to me last week. But luckily the waiter wanted me to pay first. So i saw the the invoice which was over 12 million 😂 i laughed at here and went straight out of the club.
