What the point of freeze nade here? Btw: unlucky with first hack but time is good. You should learn how to bhop (or install bhop mod). Crossbow is useless here, you using it only for ammo economy. But m1000 with hipster is enough for full mission (with such lucky short cave generation and low enemies spawn). It's better to take shotgun with jump OC and combine it with bhop which makes your moving speed x2-3 times faster. Or you can take deto OC zhukovs that destroying pyramid as fast as possible. In any case, it's better than crossbow. On haz2 maybe only triple shot crossbow may be useful (or may be not, idk).
I took cryo grenades because the Caretaker vents can be frozen. It's janky because the frozen status icon doesn't show up and is probably not intentional, but also probably never getting fixed. I'm not sure I actually needed to throw multiple cryo grenades with how quickly I destroyed the vents (since they might've stayed frozen) but I had all 4 at my disposal anyways. Excluding SimpleMissionTimer, this run had no mods enabled for submission to speedrun.com. I didn't put much thought into bhopping, but I don't think that would have been too significant of a time save for this run either. Looking back, I feel like I actually moved kinda late in a lot of spots, notably at the second hacking pod, which would've been a much larger time save. I took the crossbow exclusively so I could have pheromone bolts; the rest didn't really matter. This run didn't utilize them too much, but they can be very useful in pulling aggro away from the hacking pods alongside Steeve and the hacked patrol bots. I had fire bolts because that's what I regularly ran at the time, but Specialist might've been better for the phero duration increase. Special Powder is definitely fast, but this run is pretty timegated by hacking pods so movement takes less priority over trying to stop the pods from breaking by pulling away enemy aggro. Considering that the vents can be frozen, Embedded Dets are a lot worse at raw dps than Hipster here since they aren't benefitting from it much. ED and Trifork both have pretty poor accuracy at range (for vents), but Trifork might've been good for the eye.
@@gagoooooooooooooooThanks for the detailed answer. To be honest, this is the first time I’ve heard about vents freezing and I’ve never tried it. If this really works, it could be useful as a damage boost on 5haz 4players sabotage. Can you run tests on your difficulty solo without & with a grenade? I want to see what the difference really is. Because I have a suspicion that on such a difficulty and with so many players, M1000 does quite a lot of damage even without freezing. But I'm just guessing. Honestly, I can't call this speedrun impressive. Because nothing impossible or unusual happens in the video. Again, the cave generation is just incredibly simple. There are few bugs, the distance is very short, the hack is very close to the shield generators. The fall damage is low, like any other damage. I don't want to devalue the record and your efforts (honestly), but I don't see any point in all this. Therefore, a speedrun with mods (not for the sake of the speedrun site, but for yourself and YT content) could look much more impressive and remarkable. But this is only my opinion, please don't take it as toxic. Good luck, miner.
the fact i was about to comment why not use a cryo but waited instead, and would you look at that theres like a dozen dumbasses who didnt have the patience in the comments, but ya boomerang is 100% for either skill issue or legit diabled people who cannot aim for some or othr reason
@@AbelmcTrobel And one boomerang only kills 8 of those small targets. Are you telling me you can´t take out 8 swarmers? And the second you throw 2 one phero grenade, ESPECIALLY if paired with fire or cryo bolts will do the job better. If you are having issue with swarmers, use fire or cryo bolts and plant two or three in the ground around you move through that area and it will kill every single swarmer. If you had at least pointed to naedocite or rival shredders... (That last one I find actually viable. Not optimal but best for ease of use)
@@PineappleDevourer you are stupid... I know focus shot is a thing but thevwepon always stays in the bottom right of the screen and only the crosshair changes slightly i want to know how he made it go to the middle of the screen
Boomerang is better if you need more versatility. Personally I prefer running it if Im going to Dense Biozone or Glacial Strata because you get a lot of Naedocytes down there, and having just for grenades which you can fumble on a panic throw isnt as useful as eight boomerangs that are GUARANTEED to hit 8 targets.
Confirms the advantage of the cryo grenade. Getting rid of the swarm in the usual way shown at the beginning is so long, relative to the game dynamics, that all these poor dwarves fucking died of boredom watching it.
I think it was funny how you ran up to the resupply to stack them at 9:35 and then realized that the mod wasn't on. I could feel the milliseconds of confusion.
I think they're just demonstrating how good Cryo Grenade is. Still used 1/4 of his grenades (they used 2/8 boomerangs) and yet killed all the mactera MUCH faster.
One thing it _actually_ hard counters is web spitters. You often get like half a dozen or more scattered on the ceilings high above, but the boomerang has the range to reach them anyway, bouncing from one to another no matter how spread out they are and killing them off in one hit with the electric DoT
