Why not make 3 of these then put those together. Seems like that would be even faster. 🤔

Nifty technique, seeing how you baste from the front. I felt sad to see you promote using precut pieces. These lack charm and imagination and do nothing to develop the self confidence that comes through creating one’s own designs. Even imperfect work would be more interesting and lively.

Question: what width is your binding? I typically cut 2½". A friend just sharing your video with me. I love this use of the serger! I have an old Singer that I need to clean and learn to use. I'll definitely try this method of binding my runners and quilts.

I HAVE SHARED THIS WITH EVERYONE I know who doesn’t want a long arm taking up her sewing room but needs a way to stop wrestling those quilts through her sewing machine! Genius. I mean it, thank you, Karen. 🧵💕🥰👍

Are you so lazy that you couldn’t go to the table to lay things out so we could see it better or do you just want to be seen in frame.

Thanks for this very informative video. You explained well. I just finished my first pantograph quilting. Wish I had known about basting first. I hand basted after each roll of yhe quilt. As I roll the quilt the roll closes to the back blocks the laser so I have to quess where to go. Do you have any suggestions as to handle this?

Congratulations to Susan for making the cover with your beautiful quilt! As a quilter who has struggled with vision impairment since birth, I felt a connection to the personal quilt about your journey. Thanks for sharing your vision struggles with us, there's comfort in knowing others are going through something similar and I'm not alone.

God Bless You Leah! I pray that all is well with you and your family! 🙏🏾 Why is your laser stylus attached to the left side of the machine vs the right side? Is one side better than the other? If so, why?

Nice techniques demonstrated. Molas are not from the South American, it is close but it is i Central America by Kuna Indigenous people that live off the coast of Panama in the San Blas Islands. Glad you are sharing their art. It is a shame that Kunas don't have the advancement of technology to share their work.

Does the chain stitch add to the seam significantly (takes up more room)? Meaning one might need to do a scant quarter inch or know the blocks/quilt might be a smidge smaller? Or is the thickness inconsequential?

Nice tip to baste the layers for the “turn line” , folding top layer under, which exposed the under colored layer. I’m working on doing some “Mola” style cutouts together with my FMQ and might try turning top under along the baste stitch as you’ve shown. Like the Mola style although might not hand sew it!
