When you have to do again, put a tie down around your rear brake pedal…depressing it. Then change it out. You won’t have to bleed the brakes. At least I haven’t had to, last two times I did it.
Absolutely correct. You don't have to remove the wheel to plug it. Can't remember why I decided to take the wheel off, maybe I thought it would be easier to find. I believe I did try a 19mm socket, but was having a difficult time getting it over the lug nuts (decorative caps). Maybe mine were expanded too much where a 19mm wouldn't work. That is why I decided to use the 19.5. If you can get the 19mm to work then of course go with that. Thanks for the comment.
If you copy the description below it should produce some results. I ordered from XJMOTO, but not sure if they still sell them. Compatible with Fix Right/Left Side Broken Fender Saddlebag Rail Support Brackets Strut Stainless Steel Compatible with Harley-Davidson Touring FLT FLHT Ultra Classic (1985-2008)
That might have been a Harley recall. I have a 2011 Ultra Classic Limited and when I had my rear tire replaced by HD they ran my Vin number. Low and behold, the switch was changed out for free due to it melting and failing. My didn’t fail thankfully but they changed it before it did.
Me too! I'll never buy Ford again, looking like a moron trying to get a tire off last weekend and got to wait another week for free time while catching a bus to attempt to change my brakes again.
I just bought from a guy the very same exmark Quest and learning about the maintenance and this helped but mine still not cranking . It was cranking fine until the other day while cutting I stopped to move something in the way . I stopped the blades and when I pulled up the brake handle it shut off and came back and wouldn't start back up . the battery test fine and changed fusses . still trouble shooting .
@@MrBillybob57 I would make sure you check all the safety switches to make sure none of them have become non operational. Assuming there is one associated with the brake handle too.
The rider of this bike is 5'9" and a half. He ultimately decided to go with mid controls. So we ended up doing a conversation which was more labor intensive.
Good video brother, Question how did you know you need to change the mount, my 06 SG makes a clank when i go over bumps, so i can only think its the engine mount. thanks again for the very good explanation
At the time it seemed to me that I was having excessive vibration and so I just checked it as a means to try to remedy it. As far as clank it possibly could be the engine Mount. I know a car is different but I had a vehicle where you would go over set railroad tracks you would have a clank and sure enough it was the engine Mount.
Good question. I didn’t think that there may be a significant weight difference between the two valves causing the wheel to become unbalanced. I would suppose if you could balance it before installing the wheel that would be a good idea.
@@cheapjoker3321 I was thinking more that you broke the bead on both sides, you tire may have moved around.... Edit... Oh yeah, I didn't even think about the weight difference between the old rubber valve and these new ones.
"Yes ladies and gentlemen, don't forget to peel your lug nuts!" I mean that's exactly what everyone wants to do to get a tire off, right? Thanks, Ford.🤨
After seeing all the tools you tried, I imagined chucking a Socket in the lathe (grinding wheel works) and cone shaping the working end a bit to reach into the 'valley' there.. thanks!
Thanks for the video. This just saved me from doing something stupid. I was about to remove the large bolts holding the caliper together. Live and learn.
Depends. Doesn’t the lug nuts have the decorative style covers? Whether you have 5 or 4 the issue here was the decorative caps that made it extremely difficult to remove.
@@cheapjoker3321 not 100% sure. When they put the new tires on they used a hammer on one of the lug nut spike. I believe it's called locking wheel nuts. And on its first oil change, when they rotated the tires that's when they added 2 nuts. One on each of the back
By far...the very best and most informative video on replacing a mototr mount I have watched..Have a 07 Street Glide so this is about perfect for me...Thank You so much...Also,did you torque the two bolts you just loosend on top or just normal tight?
I think in the case of my situation if I did alter the split flange (instead of 3 and 9. o'clock position) the original flange may interfere with the bolt alignment. However, I'm not sure.
is it on all of them or just a few? I did tear off the decretive cover off one of mine, but that was very time consuming. Unless you try putting some type of sleeve over it to make the 20 mm to get it to grab.
I cut up some old Firemans hose for protection for the socket. I took a mini sledge hammer and eventually got the socket over the shredded chrome. Got the wheel off, but then my Jack failed and now my car is on the ground on that side probably cause I hit the socket so hard slightly rocking the car. (Cmax 2013) Lesson learned always put extra supports no matter what. Even for a quick job. I ordered the lowest profile jack. 2.75” height. just got a wait for it in the mail. Thanks for the video! 👍
If you drill and tap and install a zerk you can grease it and never have to do that ever again. My 99 FLH had it from the factory and I did my 02 FLH myself. Pump the grease till it comes out of both sides of the shift shaft. Wipe the excess and ride on.
Thanks @CheapJoker - Super easy to follow directions. Took me about 30 minutes to take everything apart and install the new part. Only challenge was aligning the motor when reconnecting everything. Otherwise, I'm proud of my accomplishment - not being a natural handyman. Saved a bunch of money - wife was telling me to just go out and buy a new dryer 😂
✨🧺✨thank you for this VERY informative video… I truly prefer a top loader… my man repaired the switch about a year ago and now he’s about to repair the agitator… my mom and grandmother bought the 80 series Kenmore washer & dryer for my first apartment over 20 years ago from sears and they both are still working… moving from apartment to apartment then into my home… I’m quite sure they are both smiling from heaven as I have kept them in mint condition✨🧺✨
These aluminum capped lug nuts are garbage they could leave you stranded, l ordered 20 one piece crome plated lug nuts size 14 1.5 on line, old nuts go in garage.
