Do any of those talking smack about the Maine Secretary of State understand that she is following Maine law? Had this hearing not occurred, Trump would have been allowed to be on the ballot. But a hearing was requested, evidence presented, and thus the Secretary was required to make a decision. Besides, if you think Trump did not try to overthrow the valid results of the 2020 election, there’s a bridge connecting Manhattan and Brooklyn I’d like to sell you.

The fact that Maine used the 22nd Amendment as a "WAY of Legal argument" if the 14th had failed in their filing proves they KNOW & ADMIT President Trump was lawfully elected in 2020. Having listened to all eight hours of this and having read the SoS's 34 page judgement, I can't see how it can reasonably be argued that Trump wasn't given a fair hearing. He was ably represented in the hearing and his lawyer was very articulate and was treated with respect. The SoS clearly states in her judgement that on the evidence presented to her by the petitioner (Trump) and the challengers that it is obvious Trump incited an insurrection and the historical evidence around the fourteenth amendment is the Presidency was intended to be covered by it. More states to follow before a 5-4 decision settles it.
The 14th Amendment, Section 3, was constructed to prevent any individual who engaged in an insurrection or attempted to overthrow the function of government and keep them from ever holding a position of power in the government. It is very simple and you only have to ask: Were the actions on January 6th an attempt to disrupt the certification of the election? And by their own statements it is clear that it was and as such the 14th Amendment prevents them from running for office. I don't see how any State can deem that trump is qualified and if you listen to his words and watch the actions he took then it should be obvious to you.

They clearly show Trump saying "Peacefully and Patriotically oppose the results of the election". While at the same time you can hear Ray Epps, a CIA operative yelling "take the capital now". They later claim that the Oath Keepers were the ones that breached the capital when in fact if was CIA operatives that pushed the gates aside at the direction of Ray Epps. The Oath keepers in fact on 3 separate occasions caught on video not shared in this proceeding protected capital police officers and escorted them back to their units to avoid them getting overwhelmed by the crowds. Take the time and look at all the video coverage online. There are also many documentaries you can watch. Look at both sides of the story and see which makes more sense.

I guess you have missed the "or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof" part of section 3 of the 14th amendment. The exact words of section 3 of the 14th amendment: "No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability." Even by your own assessment of Trump, which I would say is an extremely conservative assessment, he should be barred from the presidency of the USA according to the USA Constitution.

A proud time in our country for the to be defending the constitution from what is now a January 6th, 2021 insurrection and removing their ability to hold office. Are criminal charges required in issues about age or citizenship? No they are not and charges are not required under the 14th. Note: There was an impeachment and a Congressional Report and that certainly is enough to make a determination about qualification.
