Reading the comments here is quite interesting, especially pre-Islamic comments. For one thing, the Roman and British empires were not Christian, neither were they spreading Christianity by the sword. One can sully Christianity with falsehood but one cannot name a part of this world that received Christianity by forceful violent acceptance of it. Hardworking Christian misionaries and evangelists preached the gospel of Jesus in mostly hostile places at the peril of their lives. A lot of the early Christian martyrs were murdered at the hands of emperors who were anti-Christian but some concededly had to morph their empires into pre-Christian institutions for its very survival. A lot of these emperors were hitherto the kings and gods, which is in stark contrast with the message of the Christian gospel. Some of these emperors had to align with or accept Christianity because of the power of its message that was catching on and that got really popular. True Christianity has been at the receiving end of most violence and Islam probably the worst. The whole religion of Islam is premised on a rejection of Christianity and Judaism, not on a hope of salvation by receiving the grace of a loving God as the Christians preached. It seems we presently direct the anti-Christian hate by affiliating it with the atrocities of European empires and justifying the violence of our groups on those false flags. The truth is Christianity is not European. It was originally middle Eastern and was spread throughout Europe through preaching. There has never been a violent-Jihadist concept of the spread of Christianity - not by Jesus Christ, neither by his disciples. Both Jesus and His disciples suffered death while holding on steadfastly to the message of His Lordship and salvation grace. I'm making a videogame based on Alfonso's X the Wise nephew -Don Juan Manuel- works, and I'm searching for information relative to that time via internet and libraries. I liked the point of view from which this class starts, as it is not so common to find. From what I read, there was really a time and place where the three cultures coexisted, whilst trying to control each other, nonetheless, where is like stories like those revolving Saladino as a wise and fair sultan, and not only a foe.
