I remember when i worked at a petrol station in the UK doing 9pm to 6am. I know youre pain but after listening to what you have to deal with in the states it makes me thankfull for how chill the UK is although i still had to deal with some right numptys though.
@@jessikchu2570 thanks for letting me know. Eitherway I can only imagine how bad it was overthere since for the most part in the UK its pretty chill. I'm so glad at the station I worked at had the lottery machine turned of at nights. But we did have to deal with these Irish gypsy's who'd come in and try to steal bottles of alcohol or the teens trying to use fake IDs. That said for the first month or so it felt like a gold mine as I was being paid to essentially do nothing after I've done my tasks. But after a year it felt like I was wasting my life as I was basically doing nothing. Hope you have a good day.

Oh my gosh it was so nice hearing your nightmarish perspective on working at a Gas Station! There’s too much to relate to unfortunately. 😪 Cause yeah constantly getting treated like you don’t matter is awful & depressing, having to constantly babysit adults is excruciatingly taxing on the brain, society normalizing the treatment of gas station employees to be yelled at & scolded over the smallest thing/mishap is depressing (especially since we can’t yell back 🙄), dealing with drug addicts and crazy people that have no class whatsoever makes you feel concerned when the sun goes down… and people constantly littering to no avail is so painful to watch when you strive in keeping the store clean! and omg I totally know the feeling of getting stalked at the gas station! Weirdest fking sht ever! Sometimes people will come in like 3-4x a day just to see you! And it gets creepy sometimes… if I didn’t have such a great & inspiring General Manager I would’ve already quit Holiday/Circle K! I just hate that I feel so vulnerable there & the environment makes me feel like I’m in a 3rd world country at times… 😓
I worked at a gas station for 3 months, in a good neighborhood too and everything you said is true, it’s sad, gas station employees are treated like punching bags for the most part, I couldn’t handle the disrespect for no reason so I ended up getting fired for flipping off an angry customer 😂
I can confirm this, I just quit after four months at circle k and the customers were the main reason I quit and lottery people I hated them, would see them win 300 spend it right away then buy more and lose it right away. The people on the phone ughhh try to ring them up and then they do not pay attention to anything. I will never work at a gas station again. Or the people who just came in and stole and walked out when could not do anything to stop them also all the beer runs. Also the crack heads who would come in and just trip out and throw things. I am going back to my old job at a thrift store, less money but the gas station was not worth it. I think one of my worse times was a crackhead coming in trashed the store called my coworker a Mexican racial slur and me fake jesus, we could not do anything but he left on his own. He was banned but kept coming back. I liked my coworkers a lot there they were very nice. But at the end of the day look out for yourself. Get out of jobs that put you in danger. Sorry I am ranting I could not imagine making it two years. I made it four months.
I work at a gas station and have seen lot of rude ppl. can barely use the bathroom n then be like hello anyone here. one woman thought the power ball is free had ppl complain about the time we stop selling alcohol
Working at a gas station sucks ass. I work nights, we barely get any business. I work alone in a shitty neighborhood. I constantly have to kick out homeless addicts from the restrooms (nothing against addicts) but I don't get paid enough to clean up used needles off the floor or the sink. I have to cook breakfast, 28 sandwiches, 2 burritos, 2 pizzas, and other breakfast items all by myself while ringing up customers and maintaining the entire store. Expected to clean restrooms with no gloves sometimes. Overall, it's a shitty job.

Yeah... I can relate to many of these things. I used to work at a gas station for half a year and then got laid off. At the beginning I was happy and felt like I finally found a home, but the terrible management caught up, there were drastic changes and my performance suffered. We were blamed for so many things the higher ups were not able to properly manage. At the end, I was both, extremely salty but also glad that I didn't need to put up with all their bullshit anymore. I know I shouldn't feel bad about it, if people heard my story, they would likely understand, but I still do, because I really wished things would've stayed the same. They talked shit about former employers who put all into this place.. I saw it.. but it was never them. Absolute no-go. There will be a time when I will come forth with the saltiest story ever...
I started working at the gas station by my house about a month ago because the owner said he needed help. I wasn't doing anything so i said what the heck. I told him i only wanted to be part time and he said I'd be getting off at 12 pm everyday. Well after 3 days he had me working by myself and then changed my hours to 7am-3pm. Then one sunday he said he had a birthday party to go to so I'd have to stay til 4. Well he must be going to birthday parties every sunday because now I'm always here til 4. And he only pays me $10/h to be here by myself the whole day with no break. I very much feel he's just taking advantage of me. I'm about remind him that he asked me to work there, not the other way around. Plus he pays me bimonthly even though it's under the table. To me that's complete BS. Plus he seems to be involved in some shady behind the scenes activities. One thing that makes me uncomfortable is the greasy slot machine culture. And I've literally seen him sell tobacco to people who clearly weren't 21. That "make money at any cost" mentality makes me sick to my stomach. Then there's the othee dude who works here who's constantly fucking stuff up and i just wonder how truly desperate the owner is to keep this bumbling fool around. I'm leaving soon. The strain it's put on my mental health is no good. And i worked at fedex for 4 years straight so this isn't my first rodeo.
Definitely not. I don't remember how much I was making but when I got a promotion for assistant manager I only got a raise of 25 cents. They wanted me to be on call all the time and stay after my shift without extra pay so I left

I asked a guy what pump he was on because he wanted a receipt for gas, he gets all pissed about how I should be able to read and just print one... I gave him a hard time after that and told him to fuck off. I dont have the slightest amount of time for BS and aggro customers. You want somepne to bully? Find a park with some kids or some shit, cus I beat ass.
I work in one graveyard shift and I had like 5 big incidents at night, one time I even almost open the door to fight the guy cause I have a temper I litteraly have no toleation with any busllshit
