Running an automotive channel all on my own was a challenging (and foolish?) undertaking from which I gained invaluable experience. I was able to reach (and befriend) people who I otherwise likely would have never interacted with. I managed to teach myself some rudimentary filming and video editing skills and always did my best to provide content that was accurate and entertaining.
I eventually found it difficult to keep up with the responsibilities required for moderate success on RU-vid. Even the financial burden of running an automotive repair channel (tools, parts, multiple insured Jeeps) was ultimately too much for me to bear on my own. In the end my interest in Jeep repair, and RU-vid in general, dwindled and I have since directed my energy and focus to more personal matters.
I am eternally grateful to all who subscribed, supported my efforts, or commented to tell me that a video was helpful.
I bought my XJ with a lift installed but I barely had any vibrations. My exhaust was rubbing my crossmember so I installed a new transmission mount . I gain a couple mm of clearance and now I get violent vibrations and if I let off the throttle it’ll make a loud sound like it’s binding. Was that one of the symptoms for you because my rear pinion looks just like yours. It’s almost straight with the driveshaft. Don’t understand how a new transmission mount can cause so much issues. I can live with the exhaust vibrating when I’m idling but the driveline vibration now really feels like something will break or fall apart. That’s how bad it is now.
Good video. Did you end up using nut-serts for all of the holes? I don’t see any reason to go back with the fasteners that require you to hold the back of it.
No one else had shown the difference on which way the one spring on the wire went and previous owner had it on wrong way also. Me and my husband were trying to figure out why it all wouldn’t line up properly. Your video fixed our issue. Thank you!
Any issues with the lower shaft? Is it the one from Amazon? I’ve heard that it’s better to just strip the good bearing off the new one and just put it on the old shaft
@@worldtraveler419 I ended up getting a Crown Automotive 5102531AA, and it would not fit on to the upper splines that go to the steering wheel. I already replaced the lower intermediate shaft with a Crown and the threads on the end at the steering gear box were horrible, felt like they were cross threaded. So, I never got the upper shaft installed, no idea why it would not go on.
Thanks for this, I've got some slop in the steering column slipper joint on a full hydro rig and being able to compare the stock configuration was really helpful.
Thank you, pretty sure my super rusty battery tray bolts will not come out and or fall apart if I do try to remove those bolts, but I think I will at least remove the battery itself to give me more room to access the bolts and snake that alt out
