After watching your flying ghost machine I built one for our Halloween Display. I just uploaded my build video to RU-vid. Special Thanks are in my video, Cheers Blair
I love this version! I am about to build my 1st version. 1. I have a 1/2 horse motor from the 50's. It is probably 50lbs. I've seen this made with wiper motor. 2. I'm going to use braided fish line. Way less stretch. 3. I'm going to use an offset hanger similar to a chairlift. This should allow for line guides at the wheels and in the middle of the run if necessary.
I am not an electrician so I cannot help you with this. I did try a couple of different motors (ceiling fan, bench grinder) and then decided to go to an electrical supply house and made a selection after talking with a guy behind the counter who recommended the motor I ended up using.
Best flying ghost I have seen! Awesome the way the tension pulleys pull the ghost to one side or the other, makes the movement much more realistic. I so want to build one of these.....but I am DIY illiterate 😖
The ghost is very light ... bought it at Walmart ... here is a link for the braided fishing line ... www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071129KFN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Hey bud. Nice work. How did you get the motor to slow down enough?? I bought a 3-speed blower motor (1700 RPM) from AO Smith, and I've tried two different variable speed controllers and neither work. Depending on how I adjust the knob, either goes too fast or slows down to a stop. Have to crank it up halfway on the controller before it will even move. Then I cant keep it going at a slower consistent speed. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
@@ashleydavies2113 I have it on a chain drive. Small 1 1/2" sprocket on the motor shaft connected to the biggest sprocket on the 10spd rim.... flys around but cant control the speed. Maybe Ill try your way with a pulley and belt system. I noticed you dont have a capacitor for the motor (at least I didnt see it).....no problems starting it up?? Thanks for the advice
Mr Davies My name is John Flora from Idaho I love your version of your flying ghost .I'm trying to put together a flying ghost very similar to your set up. I'm having trouble finding a proper motor for my set up It either runs too fast or too slow Can you please give me some input on your motor and where you bought it Thank you John Flora
Wanted to thank you for this video inspiration. We did our own flying ghost and put in a link from this video in our description where we got our inspiration to try something new. Thank you for your content. Here is what we did: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_v7ugV8wcqg.html
This is fantastic thank you. I am in Amelia Oh and we do a Home Haunt you should come check it out. Thank you for the video I am going to incorporate this into next year's haunt👻
Only thing that would have made this better, would be to have installed a fog machine at the opening of the barn, backlight it with blue lights... That thing coming out of a lighted smoky barn loft hole, would be phenomenal... Great job!!
