Introducing SQLBits... a data professionals’ conference with a difference.
SQLBits is that rare thing - a conference that doesn’t feel like a conference. Forget never-ending PowerPoints, dry lectures, or predictable catering, this UK-based event has grown from an industry secret to a dynamic global phenomenon.
Created by data professionals for other data professionals, it's a conference designed and delivered by the UK Data community it aims to serve. Unlike other conferences, it’s famously friendly and fun - with education, knowledge sharing, and community at its core.
Since its inception in 2007, SQLBits has become the largest data conference in the world; providing delegates with access to the sector’s best experts and thinkers - including those behind the Microsoft Data Platform.
Is allowing excessive external fragmentation in order to leverage additional caching and storage groups mostly a cloud secret? This makes sense and it seems like more data folks need to know.
Seeing this is 3y ago, but still - I wonder how you keep data consistency since now you have two databases right? i.e. lets say someone sends a private message and we put it to Kafka, and then the sender deletes the message. Are we to handle this then so that Kafka also deletes it? Or lets say they edit it´hm. or what if someone does a delete from X where id = 1 in database, so basically we need to go down to trigger level to manage the data consistency? Or am i missing the point :(
I am bit new to Power Bi stuff, and TOM library. Simple question is, how to fetch existing data for the table? Here it looks, more of a schema info, but not about fetching a data.
I see you loop through each selected column in c# script. Is it possible to loop through each column and conditionally check whether it is a Calculated column (if yes then change its name by adding a prefix)?
I know its a bit late to comment on this given Synapse has evolved and so has Databricks . Nevertheless worth every second . Really comprehensive overview . Thank you for this great work Simon.
Beste Nicky. Fantastische demonstratie. Michiel
I have developed a grid app in power Apps, when I update the values in the those are saved and updated in the app but not written back on SQL table (Source). What I'm doing wrong. I want those value edited back in SQL too. Is there a permission problem?
Hey man! Your presentation is good but it’s a little bit crowded with all those symbols, brands and shiny things sprawling around the visual span!! I would suggest you take out all those non-essentials and just let your content shine on the spotlight!
