She almost got scammed cause she's an old lady. Old lady's are the only people left in the world that don't have Scam software on there phone and actually answer a call they don't know and then engage. Its just like Political polling. No one answers the phone except her. No one will take an hour to take a poll except her because its an hour long. That's why political pols are completely useless. Only dumb old people answer the phone these days. Guess there hoping its the grand kids who never call. To bad cause it gets them in a lot of trouble.
In Canada; they don't call; they send you letter from Department of Legal System ; advising you to come on such date and time for jury selection at the Courthouse
Wow shocking the chief acted so quickly, but here again he is another repeat offender. If you want to protect the integrity of policing revoke his peace officers license and prevent him from victimizing more innocent citizens that he knows can’t fight back. Or you to chief have earned the hate!
I absolutely LOVE those calls. It's like when scammer-people ask for money at the entrance to Penn Station -- I say "no thanks" which just confuses them. For the phone calls, if they'd say "the balance is $8000" then I'd jump right in and gleefully reply "oh, that's wonderful, I can use that money on so many things, please bring me the money right now..." They think I'm dense because they can't determine how obtuse they are.
You don't pay fees to do, or not do jury duty (although you do need to respond to a jury duty summons accordingly). If anything, you get reimbursed for time and gas after doing jury duty. + The police *dont* *call* *you* to inform you of a bench warrant.
