Interesting soundbox on this "hatbox" machine that was even made post-war - probably beats any of the rather cheap Waters-Conley machines that appeared under various names in the US [even RCA Victor as their portable, from around 1935-1942]
Cost the equivalent of £4000 in today's money, my father's boss owned one, the kind of people that bought these at the time were Doctors, solicitors, bank managers etc. In 1968 this cost nearly £200 and a ford cortina cost £800 and a mini cost £650, and a bush radiogramne with bsr turntable cost £29
Very beautiful! There would be, however, to adjust the fall of the caliper, so that it becomes more fluid and rests the disc gently on the plate, only in this way will it be perfect .. :-) Greetings Armando.
