I’ve had one of these for a while. It probably wasn’t a good idea to cram all that tech in there, but amazing that they did. And I love that the boombox aesthetic extends to the silver tone keys to match the overall look. It’s a gorgeous object, and almost impossible to believe existed in its time.
It’s not a bad place of kit though I’m not a fan of audio cassettes. The music keyboard has a good sound including the drum machine. I play keyboard, piano, sing and create multi track record (hobby).
Love to see this feature with a Vox Apache 11 that has a rhytm machine, or with a Guyatone LG-23R that ALSO has a built in rhythm machine. Love a cheese on cheese sandwich, don't you?
I haven’t seen one of these since I was a kid. Holy crap. My dad had one and let me play with it for years man. Wow, seeing this brought back a ton of memories.
I'd love to see you do a collab with "Keen On Keys" as he'd probably be able to get this beast back to working like it was new, and I'm pretty sure it's a model that's not been featured on his channel.
Just went to Reverb looking for a KX-101 Somebody has one for $400usd that is mounted to a piece of weathered wood and intended to be a "wall-hanger" lol
How cool!!! I’m not certain if I heard correctly that it was that model, or the other ye were comparing, but silver-plated keys, ye said?!? Whackiness!!! Always love the weird old instruments, and that is one I don’t believe I’ve seen!!! 🥰🥰🥰
