My favorite geysers were the ones right by the river, so cool. If I was sitting by y’all at Old Faithful, I would’ve done the wave with ya 😂 Glad you got to check off a life dream.
Dude, I really want to go back to Yellowstone just watching this! Just think, you were making hiking decision based on the very real possibility of being eaten by a bear. Special place 😅
Dude I loved the Narrows trail. I know what you mean there wasn’t a set payoff view at the end or anything, but I felt like the trail was rewarding in itself. But I might have had better shoes for it 😅 Loved the anecdote about your Dad’s picture too.
No trip to Cornerstone (Bushnell, IL) is complete without a McDonalds stop in Peoria, to see the local kids flicking unwanted pickle slices off their burgers at the windows of the establishment…
I want you to read this book to my kids. With the same disgust for it you had here 😂 BTW, now I’m just gonna wonder if someone switched my beer for earwax and I never would know 😬. good book review, I don’t question your integrity!
It was well acted, well wrotten, and by the RT scores looks like in not alone. In the end it really doesnt matter what critics say. What does matter is how many will buy a ticket.
Glad you enjoyed the movie, thanks for leaving a comment. As far as I can see RT gave it a 33%, a rotten score. I gave it a better score than that. I gave it a 5 out of 10, that is average. I don't trust RT anyway. From what I can find online, this movie made 5 million at the box office, not a smashing hit. I would assume it made a little profit though. Again, I appreciate you taking the time to comment, and keep enjoying and supporting movies like this, that is the only way they will get better. And just a side note, I never said people should not like this movie, it is ok to like bad movies. I love Godzilla movies, and those are so so bad.
@@fourthtribe no...the CRITICS gave it 33......the critics that do not buy tickets or dictate how well a movie does. The AUDIENCE score is 90 and is the number most RT viewers concern themselves with. It is recognized that the critic media in videogames, movies, comics, and other entertainment is controlled, regulated, and bought. As such audiences rarely listen to their opinions on whether a property is any good. We WILL listen to other views of things to apply to a property and is the only real reason we consume critical opinions.
I did say I don't trust RT, for the very reasons you stated in your second comment. I don't know how many times I can say it, I'm happy you liked the movie. The thoughts and feelings I share in my video are mine, no one gave them to me, and they don't have to be your feelings. You can have your own, and we can still be friends.
@@fourthtribe it's not about being friends. It's about recognizing quality work. This movie really touched viewers and established an emotional link. Any reviewer that fails to recognize that and convey such is not really worth listening to. This portrayal of evil and it's perpetuation (through both right and left policy) is one of the finest on a generation. From capital punishment to abortion it calls a slew of opinions on the carpet as being not of God but of man. The critics either attack it or (in your case) dismiss it rather than point out the genius that it is. Yet the audience, the unwashed masses, recognize it for what it is. Friends.....far from it. You are but one of the countless I will attack for having the lack of integrity to stand forward and lawd this portrayal of evil as being second only to the exorcist and even THAT is debatable
Classic! If you don't think the way I do, you are trash. Seems like you are taking classes from the main stream media. "Unwashed masses" you are very funny. The movie made 5 million. If you take an average ticket of $12, that is only a little over 410,000 people. Hardly the "masses", and you know not everyone of those people loved it like you. You win, we are not friends. Glad you liked the movie.
As a Christian I don't see what the problem is with having movies that are "on the nose" when it comes to the Christian message. That doesn't mean that all movies must be, but it certainly doesn't mean that just because a movie has a blatantly Christian message that it is a zero. As for movies that have Christian authors, are directed by Christians or cover a topic related to faith but still shine artistically, here are a list of movies that you may want to check out... Hacksaw ridge We were soldiers The Lord of the rings The Chronicles of Narnia Saints and soldiers I am legend The chosen Braveheart Ben-hur Amistad Amazing Grace The green mile One night with the king Unbroken ... Just to name a few
First, thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. You do list some good movies. I would argue that some of them do not do the sorce material any justice, but that is a different topic. The topic at hand is bigger than me and this one movie review, and more important I would say. Maybe my criticism was not focused enough, and I may not be able to ever word it in a way that makes sense. Perhaps saying "Christian movies" is not the best, maybe "evangelical movie" would be better? Even that change does not help everything. I still think we as Christians are given unneeded pressure from the church, or ourselves, to make sure our "Jesus per minute" is at a certain level, or we sin. There is plenty of room for argument against what I said in my review. This stuff is important to me, even if you are not a Christian, I believe the biblical moral constructs are beneficial to society on a whole. I wish "evangelical movies", movies that are being made to persuade people to believe a certain way, were less heavy handed, and less "preaching to the choir". I wish people could walk away from these movies without having the answer given to them, or them feeling preached to, only entertained. But somehow the story would touch the truth that is written in all of us, and wake that up in a way that it changes them/us forever.
@@fourthtribe I believe that is exactly what happens in the movies that I listed. The artistic value of those films is highly respected even among non-Christians. However, there is definitely a place for movies made specifically to encourage Christians to do their heart in speaking. Truth to the world. Films like God is not dead, is not designed to win over a non-Christian audience, but to encourage Christians, particularly young ones that they have a right and a truth to proclaim even in the face of blatant hypocritical disrespect
I would respect this comment if I thought it was a troll, but I think he is serious. With this logic, all art is gold, no matter how bad, and the only people that critique it, are those that are not read to "receive it". I think you are onto something Jeff.
Yes. This is a Christian movie. Written by two Catholics. What's really scary is all the demonic activity that interfered in the production. As far as Christian art, Bach and Handel, Michelangelo, etc.
I will concede to you that there are a couple good "Christian" old masters of still life, nd there are some good modern "Christian" writers, C.S. Lewis being one of them. But I stand by my statement especially when it comes to cinema. Thanks for reaching out Dianna.
Check out the TV series The Chosen and give your thoughts on that. It’s now up to the 3rd season. Granted it’s definitely on the nose as it’s about Jesus, but the quality of the art is fantastic!
Haha, my step mom and I were just arguing about The Chosen. She keeps telling me to watch it and I refuse. I can't promise I'll watch it, but I really appreciate you reaching out. If I change my mind, I'll let you know.
@@fourthtribe just a tip, this Jesus cracks jokes, gives winks and I find myself laughing and shedding a tear in almost every episode. So good! Best portrayal of Jesus I’ve ever seen on the screen. Fully human fully God.
i’m an author and i’m working on a series that is truly horror but has sound theology where theology is mentioned. But this is super scary. Constantine meets Silence of the lambs.
It has been a year, and I just wanted to check in on your horror projects. How is it going? I have Instagram creepinitreel horror, if you want to dm me.
Dude, 100% agree. Been so embarrassed of Christian art and music for so long. Hopefully the tide turns eventually. I think you got a point on the pressure placed on the artists themselves with the message being predominant.
I don't know if you have another "bear" in this adventure, but I think Nathan was traumatized by one in our campsite in Vermont. It came under the part of the "pop up camper" I was sleeping and lifted my bed up from the metal rods propping me up. Then was circling Nathan's tent. As soon as he could, he came flying in the camper "there is a bear out there, there's a bear out there!!!" LOL I think he's gonna hear them forever! Be prepared Judah.
