At the beginning of the season, almost everyone predicted that MK Dons would top the league but that hasn't happened. Port Vale have risen above expectations and it's not unlikely that they will win the league. Of course it's too early to be certain but looking at their squad, they stand all the chances in the world. From a Notts point of view, it would be good if Notts were either second or third behind them.
Great video Tom and really insightful. Id like to throw Vale’s midfield in that mix for best in the league. Garrity, Croasdale & Byers (Granted, we play with more of a 2 though) 👏
Hi Tom. I do enjoy videos like this. Yes there are others like it but It's interesting to compare the various approaches. Looking at the progress of each club is time well spent. The league is so open and any one of them can either turn or fall. It's good to have an objective view instead of just looking at our own clubs, It provides context and information, so keep it up. Ps I'm a Notts fan.
Come November time in 2020/21 league 2 season thought this might of happened to Bolton that would of been even worse for use if we got relegated then cose the the club just came out of nearly being liquidated Bolton did get promoted in there first season in league 2
I think Tom , you are forgetting that teams who go down have their better players poached so are likely to be weaker next season anyway. Clubs on the way up tend to hold onto players and strengthen so they become more competitive . O K Crawley have gone against that having let many of the promotion players go - not working out too well there though !
I'm desperately hoping that today (October 19th, when we play Wimbledon), Notts can find a way to beat them.I hope that Stuart Maynard has better tactics and that Wimbledon are out manouvered. But I accept that they are well managed and difficult to beat.
I watched a podcast called The Blue Army, a Carlisle podcast. The young man who presented it was complaining that they have good players, but the system doesn't suit them, and they are suffering from that..
I have never seen a technical analysis like this before. I still maintain an interest in the National League, (I'm a Notts fan) If I hadn't watched this video, I wouldn't have known how Barnet has the edge on other teams in the league. I have learned from you how tactics work and if you haven't done a Notts tactics video so far, one would be appreciated, Ps< I count York City as My second team.
I love this channel. If you are interested in co operating I have some ideas. It will take a few months to materialised and stuff but 2025 is going to be a great year for us British Soccer fans. #GodSaveTheQueen
Pretty sure no Promoted team from the Conference/National League Premier has ever been relegated straight back down the following season. Even with two relegation spots now it's still not happening.....Bromley might be the first.
Good video Tom, pretty spot on there. Edwards needs to earn his time though. Loses next 2 games, and I think that’s it for him. My patience is going with his lack of flexibility in tactics. Need to go back to basics again.
Absolutely fascinating video, I was already looking forward to watching Solihull v Barnet on the weekend, but there is loads I’ll be looking out for now! Just hope Andy Whing and his team watched this video to think of ways to try and stop Barnet on Saturday!!
Love this form you Tom! As a bees fan for around 15 years, this is the best I’ve seen us play and just on the basic eye test never mind stats the ceiling for this team, players and manager is so so high. You covered the tactical analysis very well, specifically the roles of certain players. For me one player that deserves even more recognition is Oluwu as the main covering centre back, his pace and physicality is a joke, often he is 1 v 1 against quick attackers in behind and just muscles them of the ball. So composed and one of the key players that makes us tick and still young! DB has recruited perfectly for these roles which highlights the quality of the recruitment even further. Considering the age of some of these players, and recent financial windfall from player sell ons, I genuinely believe we would challenge significantly in L2 if we go up this season. I just hope we can be adaptable against better teams to adjust our aggressive approach, our tough run in now will be decisive. Our record against top teams has been poor for a long time.
They were relegated in 2019 along with Walsall. Newport County have been in League Two for 11 straight seasons since being promoted from the Conference in 2013
Chesterfield back to back relegation to the National League in 2016/17 and 2017/18, Yeovil going from the Championship to National League South comes to mind as well
The 3 that went up last year we drew home and away with Stockport, Beat Wrexham home and away and Drew with Mansfield away and lost at home so only 1 defeat to the Big 3...We are doing ok in 9th 1 point off the play offs and 4pts off top saying we've lost 6 major players (3 centre backs and 3 attacking midfielders) all of which are 1st team starters...We will be in the mix come the end of the season I'm confident of that...UPTFC 🐔🐓🏟⚽️👏🏻
