Hey Professor, does this have a name in judo? It looks like tani-otoshi but instead of using the inside leg to trip, you pivot and use the outside leg.
No matter how well you think you know a move, there is always improvements that can be made. I’m definitely incorporating this one, thanks for sharing.
This works if you are stronger than the opponent. Last night I roll with 4 men (1 blue belt, 1 yellow, 2 white), I can't take them down because they are heavy :) But they are nice enough to let me so I can do the move.
That's interesting, I prefer this takedown with bigger fellas because it's easier to reach the leg :) What direction are you trying to throw them in? I find personally it works best if you go in a spinning motion towards the blocked leg, so it's harder to post the back leg. If you keep turning you should eventually get 'em, sometimes it takes a full spin. this also puts them flatter on the back. Hope my experience helps you!
