When you save time; you save money. One of the easiest ways to improve your quality of life and increase your income spread is to do projects, maintenance and upgrades yourself.
I have not personally tried it but after this video being up for a while there are only a handful that have not worked. Most of the radios I have tried have been the NEX models by pioneer.
I installed a UPR on my 19 3.5 with about 45k miles on it, now has 53k. In those 8k it has caught about that amount you have, best as I can measure it. I still have a very light film of oil on my MAPs, not really enough to even make a drip, Intake runners are dry. Truck idles so smooth and accelerates great. My reasoning behind the install was if all of a sudden the can starts catching more oil, there may be something I need to check. The install hasn't improved anything nor has it been detrimental in any way. Just insurance and peace of mind.
Here to say thank you! Noticed this grinding sound when I went around left hand corners. Bought the parts and installed in 5 minutes! Thanks to you! It’s all fixed now!
I have a Pioneer DMH-WC5700NEX with the newest firmware 3.05 from the Pioneer website and have tried this procedure over 20 times and cannot get it to work or display the “set on” message. Have tried all touch screen areas and used a stopwatch. What an I doing wrong?
I’m sorry you’re having this issue. I haven’t personally tried that radio but out of all the pioneer radios I have tried it’s worked. Do you have the parking brake wire hooked up at all?
I have a bypass unit physically installed that connects to the parking brake wire and that worked for a few weeks but I think the head unit GPS calibrated and started working and now the bypass unit no longer works and IU just tried that procedure 10 more times and it still never displays the 'SET ON' message. It seams like if i go over 5 miles an hour the bypass no longer works. Still looking for a solution. Thank you for your replay.
@@MarkDamore I would try to factory reset the unit and try again. It sounds like something is off. My bud who has that truck in the video said he can go on the freeway and it still works.
@diydevin found it but I don't think this works with mine, I actually cut the wire abit short last night thinking I didn't realise it do anything with it connected to ground but now that I have it connected I can see alot of features are blanked out, looks like stereo will probably have to come out so I can fix the wire again.
I have personally not tried android auto, but I would think it does since it’s just allowing you to do things as if your parked and have the parking brake applied.
@@diydevinHmmm.. because literally nothing pops up on the display when I press the lower left corner of it for ten - fifteen seconds. I thought it may have been because the wire wasn't grounded or used.
If I remember correctly I stood about the middle of the car with my hip against the bumper then with my palm facing the engine I put my hand down and back; then pushed the sensor clip with my thumb and then pulled it out. I can palm a basketball if that helps judge what size my hands are.
Yes and no, figure out what way the air is blowing, for example if it’s blowing at just your feet put the dial to the feet setting and then install the blend door actuator.
Hello, it doesn't work on my avh 2300 nex and my remote blue white wire out of head unit stopped working has 0 power and my bypass won't work because of it so now been searching for a fix to get my options un grayed so can setup new amps.
Could a intermittent ac not working be a possibility for this failed part? I recently changed ac compressor and did a proper recover and charge on Freon. It was working great and randomly began blowing hot air, the next day it was back to blowing cold air, again intermittently going hot
Yes that could very easily be the case. If the blend door actuator isn’t closing or opening properly then you can have inconsistent temperature through the vents.
Yes, very likely! That is what this truck was doing before I changed it. Make sure to have your dial turned to defrost before changing it otherwise it will mess up your controls.
I personally did and it would work but it was way harder to see what you were doing. If you had a camera so you could see what you were doing; then doing it from underneath would possibly be easier.
Does it bypass it so that you can alter the greyed out settings? Trying to figure out how to alter the dimmer/illumination settings without having to adjust my wiring.
I believe so, I don’t remember having any greyed out settings after doing it. I don’t have that truck anymore or else I would check right now. I will see if I can get ahold of the guy I sold it too and check if possible.
The one in the video is a 6400NEX, but I have also had the 2500NEX, 2550NEX, 6500NEX and my most recent radio is the 8500NEX that has been my favorite so far.
I am sorry this trick did not work for you, it has worked on all my pioneer radios I personally have as well as hundreds of others I have received feedback from.
Thanks Brother for the video. It is funny, that the Can you installed has in the "IN" hose going to the 90Deg Valve cover Pvc connector, but the J&L can option in your link has the Out Line going to the Pvc 90 deg connector. Weird. I hooked up a cheaper version on my 2.7L, Without the 45 and 90 deg connectors already installed and my Truck would not run right Idling at 2500 rpm with the Pvc hose to in the "IN" on can and the "Out" hose to the Intake manifold.
Hey brother, so i got a 2018 raptor with 120k miles , got engine light for code p0420 catalytic bank 1 , BUT i can tell oil leak from stuck piston rings messed the catalytic. IF i install a catch can, and do a good oil change with good additives ,would catch Can Help ? Should i do that first and then see if i still need to replace Catalytic? Thanks and God Bless
How’s it saving you money by cashing out if you’re going to shop at Costco anyway and spend the money? Lol it’s a good hack if you NEED the cash but to not SAVE money
Most people use a credit card at Costco and that gives you more cash back. By cashing it out and using a credit card you’re getting more money back on not just your credit card but also your membership in general. If you buy groceries with it you’re not getting between 2-4% back from that money.
Good video I appreciate you doing it. Getting the electrical connector off the old sensor was tough doing it blind but I was surprised that it eventually came off no problem. Also getting the right combination of sockets and extensions to work took me a while. After getting the old sensor out a fair amount of oil dripped on the ground so I thought I should make sure to put the new sensor in good and tight. Definitely went beyond just snugging it so hope I didn’t crack the case. No oil leaking from the case so far. Thanks again.
That’s only with the Citi cash back not with the regular 2% executive cash back. So yes with the Citi cash back you should do the direct deposit to save more money.
hey man im having the same problem but my truck is a f150 2010 its only when im making a left turn but it makes that grinding noise you was talking bout could this be the same problem
The sensor requires 21mm deep socket. We measured the sensor with calipers and indeed it is 21mm. A 6 point 22mm would probably catch it but a 12 point 22mm will not. DeVin probably used a 6 point 22mm. Good luck.
