Have a question- when I'm done doing a 17m video, how do I clear handbrake from it. I've ejected the dvd-disconnected the player, shut down and restarted my computer and handbrake still holding that 1st video and won't accept the next dvd in the player-option command delete does nothing.. Mac iOS ...anyone please comment ...
half right. No discussion of "chapters". Handbrake does NOT copy a whole source DVD by default. It seems to rip the first few chapters only, and this is a major issue that you do not discuss. 50/100
Whatever I do when I try to rip with Handbrake, I get an mp4 that is erroneous. Not sure how to describe it, but the image is not visible, has black and white shadows over it and the audio is jittery, broken up by shh sounds... I've tried to play with settings but it hasn't helped...
thanks for the walk through... tried dropping Libdvdcss into the c/prog-files.handbrake folder, but in 2024, it no longer works in handbrake, still get the error message or no error mesaage but in the title field you will get a max of only 1min 30 sec of a movie you wish to convert which should show 120 min in length.. handbrake has now past its use-by date imo ..and WinX DVD Ripper costs $58.00 or doesnt work, only gives you a [free] 5min convert option, oh and update, WinX DVD Ripper can't crack the c-protection, makes this software like handbrake also redundant for my requirements

I actually tried out out winxDVD it didnt actually work for me, guess because it was free version......Handbrake perfectly solved my problem and seems like this was the tutorial i was searching for ages....THANKS A MILLION!!!!!
Having tried the .dll trick in November 2023, I can confirm it does not work on version 1.6.1 of HandBrake., I recommend uninstalling 1.6.1 and installing 1.5.1 then applying the .dll trick. It works like a charm now.
1.5.1 is the way to go. Thankfully HandBrake has an archive of older version on their website. I also had to install the .NET 6.0 runtime but we got there.
@Kevin-mf7wb I bought a portable dvd player that works with android devices on Amazon that rip dvds. But I'm looking for a decent software to download.
What if it rips the dvd just fine but the image looks like digital shit? The entire movie I just ripped looks like a Super Nintendo was shot but is still trying to play
I"m getting that issue now which means it might be a copy protection issue. I will keep trying for a while but I will get another dvd ripper if it doesnt work.
Didn't work for me, Solutions 1 and 3. Solution 2, I tried it and there's a max duration of only 5 minutes for the free version. I"ll look into downgrading my Handbrake.
THANK U, THANK U, THANK U, it perfectly worked for me. I downloaded the 1.5.1 version of Handbrake, then I added that lbdvdcss file in the programme folder, and there it is, it worked then!
Thank you for the video - unfortunately the libdvdcss didn't work for me (it used to work before I updated to 1.6.1). I rolled back to 1.5.1 and it worked like it used to so it seems Handbrake are now bypassing the hack
