When people come to God they receive the Holy Ghost evidenced by speaking in tongues. Every person in the New Testament that was saved ALL spoke in tongues. Some before baptism in Jesus name and some after baptism in Jesus name. 1 Corinthians 14 is talking about the gifts of the Spirit. All gifts are available to Christians, but not all will operate in them. Depends on how far we allow ourselves to grow in the spirit how close we allow ourselves to grow in our relationship with God. I have never been used in the gift of tongues and interpretation, but I have seen this operate in our services at times. Everything decently end in order. I have however, received the Holy Ghost speaking in tongues. The first time was when I was 16 and now at 53 years old, I have spoken tongues many times throughout the years. Sometimes at church when I am praying, sometimes at my house when I am praying, and even sometimes when I’m driving down the street, listening to worship music and praying and I will just start speaking in tongues. That is the holy ghost. That is the evidence of the initial evidence of Jesus living in me. The fruit of the spirit is the evidence that Jesus does reside within me. Goodness, kindness, suffering, love, joy, peace, etc. speaking in tongues is initial evidence that somebody has received God’s spirit within them. The fruit of the spirit is evidence that they are growing in that Spirit
Mr, I think you got caught in wrongful interpretation made by the very wolves in ch 11. This is not about offerings, this is about trade. Paul was encouraging Corinth and Macedonia to trade with each other. The money were not to be used for Paul Edit: sorry my bad. It was for Jerusalem
Amen Mr. In 8:7 its even clearer how to interpret 8:14. How would you be equal in terms of faith and knowledge like the Israelities who gathered manna at the perfect ratio? The manna that you got is perfect, that if you wanted to share it then share it, if you don't then don't.
It takes two for the process of reconciliation. God made the First step: He reconciled himself to the world. He would never reconcile himself to sin. Christ paid the price for the sins of the whole world. That was the necessary atonement, directly followed by God forgiving the world all trespasses. Today sin is not imputed to anyone, ALL sin was put on Christ, buried with him. When Christ rose again, all sin stayed in his grave and is not ever to be re-imputed to anyone in this dispensation of Grace. That's our good news of today the Gospel of our salvation: the work was finished on the cross, once and for all. Now sin is put out of the way between God and man. Now it's your turn: be ye reconciled to God. Believe that all your sins were forgiven by God when Christ paid the price for every single sin. This is salvation today: believe, your sins were forgiven on the Cross, the sins of the whole world were paid and forgiven there. Believing that, trusting in Christ alone is what saves you today, in this moment, Christ's righteousness is imputed in your account, you are sealed with the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption, eternal life and all spiritual blessings are yours, you are a new creature, a member of the church, the Body of Christ, your Destination is heavenly places. Paul did not say one single word in all his 13 epistles how to get your sins forgiven. Because salvation is to believe they already are. This is our ministry, Ambassadors for Christ, ministers of reconciliation. Share the good news that God has forgiven all the worlds sin and is not imputing them, today is the day of salvation! I have a question. If you said that speaking in tongues means speaking in languages to God. How come the people of Acts 2 were able to hear their own languages? Was the miracle in the speaking or in the hearing? Secondly, there was a repeat of those scenarios in Corinth and in with the men of John. They spoke in tongues also and the people around could understand what they were doing (Magnifying God & prophesying) does this also mean that the miracle that happened was in the hearing and not in the speaking?
Anthony, I enjoyed your well-prepared presentation. May I ask two questions about vs. 16-28? 1. By what wisdom was Solomon sure that the lying prostitute (who'd been saying that she wanted "her" baby) would suddenly change her appeal to "Go ahead, kill my baby"? Why was Solomon sure that she would not respond at vs. 26 by saying "Well yes, now that you're finally offering my baby to me, of course, I will take it"? 2. Since the soldier of vs. 25 was likely aware that Saul had lost his kingship for hesitating to carry out Samuel's command to kill all the Amalekites (including the babies), why did he hesitate to carry out Solomon’s command to cut the baby in two?
Starting at minute 23:11, you took two passages and meshed them (skipping a section in between) which changed the context. I believe the promise for you and your children and for all who are far off is referring to salvation. Acts 2:33-36 Therefore having been exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured forth this which you both see and hear. For it was not David who ascended into heaven, but he himself says: ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”’ Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ-this Jesus whom you crucified.” Acts 2:37-39 Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brethren, what shall we do?” Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.”
I walked out before Anthony spoke because this dry Pastor worshipping fellowship sung Bethel songs . I was delivered from Bethel and its last days deception. I had to sit through this self foccussed look at me piffling narcissist folly because lm his step brother and l didnt want to be rude. Passing through the red sea was described as a Baptism by St Paul Apostle. Paul did not claim that anyone in the OT used the word Baptism, but he was teaching the Congregation in Corinth the immense value of superior blessings received by being Baptized in Christ, so that Paul compared the blessing of the Israelites passing through the red sea to a Baptism!
The forgiveness of the sins of the whole world occurred at the crisis, 2 Corinthians 5:19, and by believing in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, christ's righteousness is imputed to us and we are given eternal life, sealed by the Holy Spirit and we have eternal life that we cannot lose, so today in the dispensation of grace man will not end up in hell as a sinner or because he sins, but as an unbeliever.
Thanks, Pastor Anthony, a lot to meditate on and consider, that you managed to fit in 10mins - I know that the Church in Corinth was surrounded by gross immorality that was normal in Corinth, and some of the Church members had a past that was unacceptable to God, but Paul was his most encouraging in writing to them that it was what some of them had been, but now they had been washed clean and were new people in Christ. Your talk was this encouraging to know how concerned God is in the way that Jesus said in John 10 that no one can snatch his sheep out of his hand! I was listening closely and caught that Eve seduced the serpent!!!
Ftnte for vvs 3-10 says that Paul resumes his criticism of false teachers wreaking havoc in Ephesus. He contends that the driving force behind their novelties is pride, an infatuation with controversy, and a distorted view of leadership. Not only that, but they exact a price for their preaching in order to accumulate wealth for themselves.
