If you are transitionning it's because your primary either has jammed or is empty and the threat is still active. No need to put the safe on to add steps. When you neutralize your threat, then scan for other threats. Once clear, look what is wrong with your primary. Holster your pistol, clear your jam. Once your locked and loaded again, primary goes on safe.
