@@5AcresandaMoose I was born and raised there and kind of feel some ownership to try and make things better. But it’s a losing battle. We got the jetski ban reversed then they just reimplemented it a couple years later. Same with plastic bag ban.
@@New2Me170B The mains bounced and left the tailwheel grounded. Forcing the mains onto the runway and pushing the control stick forward to transfer the weight onto the wheels can result in a bounce or pilot-induced oscillations. Pilots must wait for the mains to touch before advancing the stick forward-and then, be patient while the aircraft decelerates before bringing the tail down.
@@lonestarhog7407 I know how to land. Haha. I wasn’t doing a wheel landing I was doing a three point landing as short as I could. Sometimes when I have better grip I hit the brakes hard enough that I hold the tail in the air. But once again, thanks for the lesson. Haha.
Great video! Yes the mountain scenery of Alaska from the plane is amazing! If you are interested I have just uploaded a film of the flight to Mount Fairweather in Glacier Bay NP. We did the ski ascent afterwards (film will come later). The flight: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-imCH9gNydnM.htmlsi=3rr-Dqgq2Z6Pfyyl
Yeah. The 83” trailblazer helps too. It would be tight with a stock 170 and any weight. I had my whole family in there with our gear from our Talkeetna strip and about 1/2 tanks.
Great video ! Panning that 360 cam as you turned on to the runway at the beginning 😎. Nice butter landing at the end 👌. Can you still use the beach at high tide to land?
Do you mean walk it before landing? I always fly over and check any off airport landing spot before landing. I’ve been on this beach numerous times and know where all the big rocks etc are.
Absolutely miss living in Alaska. When I was stationed up there I'd started flight training but after about 12 hours life got in the way. Definitely overdue to get back into training.
I thought the same thing, but editing with Final Cut Pro it seems like I have to buy it. Didn’t feel like going down the rabbit hole of paying for a subscription terrible copyright free music.
3000’X60, with 1000’ of taxiway on each end. It was originally over 5000’, but we decided it wasn’t necessary to do the full width the full length. But it makes for nice clear approaches on each ends.
