Playground Earth is a RU-vid channel and a way of life. Here you will find hiking adventures and explorations to some of the most beautiful places on Mother Earth...to play, to inspire, to be with the beauty and to open our hearts to the wonder and magic of nature.
This channel will evolve over time. For now, I've been in the western United States hiking around and experiencing lots of rock formations, beautiful landscapes and all that nature has to offer.
I'm excited to share my adventures with you! Me (I'm Matthew) and Mo (she's the Van and my home) will be travelling around and flowing with the freedom and the high vibes. Where is that? No idea. I love to keep things open with room for the magic and to flow to the perfect place at the perfect time.
I have seen some incredible things online and this is right up there at the top. Thank you so very much for exploring.. I would love to hear what the natives in the area have to say about these formations which I would imagine are sacred. My eyes must have been playing tricks on me around 39m into video... Perhaps too much for my mind to take in all at once.
Thank you very much. So great to see original footage of an incredibly interesting area. I could have watched this if it were any length of time as long as more of it were being explored. Great find.
Fun hiking along with you in the virtual realm... The hawk's s screech and the unfolding landscape drew me in... Rock spirits. I saw so many faces in the rocks. Turtle, reptiles, and even a hawk. Your laugh at the end. Joyful. Beautiful sharing thank you! Looking forward to part 2
Happy to add my positive comment: you always bring us along interesting hikes, but this morning in MT, temperatures began -10°F, & it's 20° WARMER than yesterday. Thanks for the PSYCHOLOGICAL HEAT!
Nice video. California is such a desolate poor place in terms of vegetation compared to rich forested east coast usa. Mostly rock and dust and full sunray UV all the time. I believe it has an effect on people's character. I would enjoy a visit but if i lived in such a landscape over time i would miss the rich vibrant forest. And i know there are some micro climates near the Cali coast where there are forests but it's minimal and most of the state is arid, including the center valley which is watered for cultures but is in fact also an arid climate.
Thank you. Seeing more & more of these ancient polygonal/etc. boulders and wall-esque remnants is always a refreshing experience. This is all architectural desolation.

Can't imagine going all the way out here & not looking at, or for Boulder Stacked Structures!. Usually at the very Peaks, ^ sometimes, there are massive Boulders placed on "cutie" Quartz crystal ones!
This material is more focused on the relaxation aspect of the architectural megalithic desolation, rather than the strictly technical one. He'll get to it. Patience.
Besides the beautiful scenery there is a lot of history in those hills. Many western movies and commercials were made there. If you go into Lone Pine to the Museum of Western Film History you will see.
Hi there I just found your channel and subscribed. The Alabama Hills got its name from miners in the area who named it after the CSS Alabama, a Confederate warship. I have been there once and I want to go back.
Lava beds or Boulder piles? Not quite the lava flow here! I'm not a Geologist, yet can someone else confirm that lava flows, & doesn't ever leave workable boulders pieces?
Remnants of ancient megalithic walls, towers, housings, etc. Some of it looks melted. Whatever happened here, it was cataclysmic. None of it is "natural".
whats that stone that looks like a brain when the video first comes on its shaped like and looks like it could be about the size of a 36 ft tall person i never caught that last time
Wonderful. Thank you for investing the energy needed to film this lovely architectural desolation, properly. Your work is greatly appreciated. I watch it often with soothing music.
Watching this, I feel like I am there with these gorgeous views and precisely angled stones! There is such powerful beauty here. Thank you for filming this for us.
