The Archive of Charlie Rich. This channel dedicated to the late Charlie Rich (the Silver Fox). This is an unofficial fan channel. Remastered music and videos, rare and unique material, interviews, unofficial documentary movie. Charles Allan Rich (December 14, 1932 - July 25, 1995) was an American country music singer, songwriter, and musician. His eclectic style of music was often difficult to classify, encompassing the rockabilly, jazz, blues, country, soul, and gospel genres. In the later part of his life, Rich acquired the nickname the Silver Fox. He is perhaps best remembered for a pair of 1973 hits, "Behind Closed Doors" and "The Most Beautiful Girl". "The Most Beautiful Girl" topped the U.S. country singles charts, as well as the Billboard Hot 100 pop singles charts and earned him two Grammy Awards. Rich was inducted into the Memphis Music Hall of Fame in 2015. Thank You! Tim
Hey, thanks so much for taking the time to put this together. There's such a lack of materiel out there on this incredibly talented man, this is much appreciated.
You can really tell in his voice that this is the album that was the "most" Charlie. It's just a shame he never got the chance to experiment with jazz more in his peak. Lovely mix, Tim!
Thanks for comment, DearestHershel! Indeed, this album was a "labor of love" as Charlie once said. There still exist many of his unreleased demo tapes with jazz standards and the blues material, they're located in the family archive. Unfortunately, the family still haven't yet pubished any these tapes. But fans hope and believe that one day it happen... Kind Regards, Tim
@@CharlieRichArchive You seem to be the go-to on Rich news nowadays, so I don't suppose you know if Charlie's son Alan is still performing? Would've loved to have seen more from him too.

I'm still watching this, but 50 years later I'm trying to unravel what happened. I met Margaret in 1973 in California. We were both working at an electronics assembly plant at Memorex in Santa Clara. She talked about Charlie in the past tense. His hit was on the radio (Behind Closed Doors) with The Most Beautiful Girl to follow. These two songs seemed to have perfectly fit as if he was referring to Margaret. I only had a few interactions with her, and one of them came out of the fact that she was wearing a very beautiful ring. She was giving me advice that at least if you have jewelry, you have something to sell when times get tough. The woman I remember looks very much like the picture you have in here of Charlie with his daughter. There is a glamour shot of Margaret Ann that is the closest thing to her face that I've seen to match my memory. That picture was taken probably when she was in her 30's. By 1973, she would have been about 40. Her face, of course, was older and wider. The youngest child (now deceased) says he graduated from Van Nuys High School so clearly they were in California at some point. My best guess on how she could have ended up in the bay area is that Charlie Jr. was in the service and we were very near Moffett Field Air Force Base. Sailors were stationed there in the 60's and 70's as well. I haven't seen anything mentioned to match this so it mystifies me no end. I could post on Charlie Jr.'s page but I don't want to open a can of worms they want shut. Any ideas on how this could be?
Thanks for this story! Unfortunately I don't know anything about it... But! I know that Charlie and Margaret in the mid of the 70s almost divorced. It's a pretty famous fact.
@@CharlieRichArchive very interesting. that kind of solves the mystery. i hadn't managed to google up that info. she was a very nice woman, down to earth and wise. the only thing i remember vaguely hearing was that he had a drinking problem. but he was quite past tense at that point. her youngest would have been about six years old. i don't remember anything being said about children though. i don't even definitely remember if she said they were married. i only knew they'd lived together. we worked in a huge open warehouse. she was a QC lady (quality control) and they always wore these blue smock tops. i was in the department right next to her station where we "stuffed" the PC boards (printed circuit). it was a good paying job and no experience required. swing shift so she could have been home with kids in the daytime. i just don't remember any convo about kids.
This brings back such wonderful childhood memories!! 💗 It's strange how music and lyrics from over 40 years ago can stick in your head like you just heard it yesterday. A gift.
You can hear the waitress confirming a fan’s drink order while Charlie is singing, nice (Was that a gin & tonic?) Only in Vegas. Same hotel Elvis played in the 70s. Super fine posting! Consider me subscribed.
I had bought his last album years ago.Talk about a great album. I never really listen to him but after that album ,man I did. What a musician. RiP Charlie
This song is a good example of why I would make a 300 mile round trip to see Charlie Rich live. Blues, jazz, country…everything I like. I miss him and his music.
Wow what a total package this man is. Just his voice alone is worth the ride then you throw in all the different styles of music he could , and did play on top of his "tinkling the ivory" so beautifully on top of his looks and what you get is a full on STAR as in the kind of authentic stars from days gone by. ♥️ He seemed like a real down to earth kinda guy. I pray that the music industry gets their heads back in the right place so real artists like Charlie Rich can come back to making music that's palatable and just all around good to listen to and watch.❤👍 If you notice, his voice stayed pristine through it all.....😊

I love his son now Allan Rich , AKA Charlie Rich Jr. He has shown us as well some of the BEST ballads in the World . If you can see this Jr. Sorry for your Dad's loss ! Love from Oregon Steve Mc
Everything he does is fabulous. Can't help that the musicians, tech, etc. didn't do a better job but Charlie Rich can only shine like the 🌟 that he is! Adored by rosita 🌹
In looking back, being an Arkansas native, growing up in Charlie's neck of the woods, I was 33 when he passed, I'm now 2 years older than when Charlie passed. I knew his daughter and husband, very sweet people .
