Welcome to our tarantula page! This channel is about all things tarantula related and our adventure into the world of tarantulas! We have been in the hobby since 2019. :)
I got my T seladonia as a freebie about 2 months ago. She was about 1/4 inch she has molted twice and is a little over an inch. People care for their T seladonia in different ways. I do not mist mine at all, I drop water droplets near her trapdoor and I see her drink from there. Mine will also only eat crickets so I kindly pinch the head and put it near her trapdoor. She always pulls it in and shuts her door. I was so scared of messing up with this species and I am happy to say my little Jewel is doing wonderful. Thanks for the video.
I'm sorry for your loss. This is why I'm too afraid to get one. They are just too fragile, or our husbandry isn't quite right yet. Idk what it is, but a lot of people lose them, like more than 50%, so we must be doing something wrong. I wish we knew what so it would quit happening.
This video is the exact reason why I know I'm not ready for an Asian fossorial, nor any of the old worlds with common names that have the word "Tiger" in it.
We have had an unfortunate series of events happen. We can no longer afford bills… Waiting to see if I get into the military. If I do that means I can no longer keep tarantulas. Which is very sad because this is my dream but unfortunately my dream does not make money.
Enjoying the video. Nice to meet the spider fam Had to comment when I saw Ember. I have an Ember too- mine is a B smithi. - indexed and about 2.5 DLS. Added ember and ‘Syd’ my A avicularia juvie about 3 weeks ago. They are great and I tried to pick names that could work for M or F. My Mber only kicked hairs when nice so far but I do expect it. Ember also molted (my first) last week. Utterly obsessed w Ts atm. Thanks for the content!
Oh Drew, you didnt even put the sticker on straight lol. Dont have sericopelma myself, never been drawn to them but yeah, love the little coloured bit.
Lol, cheers for the shout out, what you mean, you knew id get the question right lol. You guys really need a rehousing tub, makes this so much easier, and with reference to the care videos, personally i dont like seeing them, if youve raised from sling to mature adult then yeah, but totally up to you. Get a big tub lol.
You actually could have put her in a bigger enclosure, that one will be too small after one molt. And if she webs to the top, she will be defensive every time you open to feed or water her. Its ironic considering Lexi is so uncomfortable with rehousing them, that you put her in a small enclosure to begin with. This comment isn't critical of you guys, I just wrote what I was thinking during the rehousing. Lol. So, pls don't take it as me being rude. Have a good new year!
No it’s okay we appreciate the comment! 😁 She has actually been one of our best behaved Chilobrachys! She dug a tunnel all the way to the bottom and just chills in there most of the time. You are 100% right though she has webbed the entire lid to the dirt and her water bowl is nonexistent haha but it’s all good she finds comfort in her tunnel and just runs down when we open it. I think she should be okay for a couple molts but I do agree we should have put her into a bigger enclosure! We appreciate the feedback thank you for caring and supporting our channel! 😁
@@machostarantulas ahh okay Florida is the Midwest of the south, we have a direct highway from Michigan to Florida. I'm from Michigan and you guys just remind me of chatting with my friends lol
You really need to get use to making sure they have something to walk out the vile onto, thats why theyre bolting so much, also could be the moisture in your enclosure, T's dont generally like walking on wet substrate, thats why we all have ours mixed and dampened before we need it.
The videos from fear not are almost done so we haven’t been able to take any tips into account yet because All of these videos are from the same day. Aside from the couple videos afterwards we have started using some of these tips for the betterment of our tarantulas.
Merry Christmas! I got my 7 new Ts and 1 velvet spider last week. I haven't had a tiny T in forever, they are the epitome of the word "smol". Lol. A D pentalores, C elegans, the A geniculata, and the A hentzi, are fucking tiny. But the velvet spider is smaller than the small fruit flies. The vial had a huge sticker on it saying "This vial is NOT empty". That's how small she is.
haha yes i cant believe the size on some of these guys haha we want a hentzi eventually and i heard alot of good things about velvet spiders we wish you and your spoods the best of luck and a very merry christmas!!!
@@machostarantulas Im sorry I know that sad feeling when they turn out to be males. It stinks. They're still so beautiful but its like darn I wanted you to be around for as long as possible.
Thanks for the feedback! However we are striving to squash the narrative Spiders are scary. They are misunderstood creatures and putting something mean would go against our values here at Macho’s Tarantulas.
