I hope that "paint" you've painted it with was actually gel coat, otherwise it really will not last long. I also hope the wood you used has been epoxyd completely throughout or the moisture will cause it to warp and bow, and again, it will not last long. Nice looking boat though.
The video is too shaky and has so many focus issues. Very hard to watch. Gave me nausea. Really want to watch, but it's too hard for me. just buy a go pro (I guess, idk)
Yeah I was able to make enough money half way through to buy a new camera cuz that shit annoyed me too. But also if you want to buy me a gopro then I'll take that too :)
Hopefully, one day :) By the way, i watched it on my browser as windowed screen, from far. When it is not full screen, i somehow manage it. Thank you for the video
HOW DO YOU HAVE SO LITTLE SUBSCRIBERS?? I saw ur boat videos and then this popped up, I said to myself if this is the same guy, I’m subbing. And it was, and I subbed. Good videos ❤
Fun fact, this shows up as the first reel when you search "casting a copper shot glass" on RU-vid so congrats! Going to rewatch for when I try and wax cast a custom putter.
No denying this was a Herculean effort and you deserve all the respect for taking it on through completion. That being said, by your own admission, the paint is subpar. Which is too bad, because it really could be a showstopper. Same goes for the coachwork, they could both really use a second attempt. I’d say, if you were to revisit the boat project, it’d be worth bringing in a professional painter and marine upholsterer to take the lead and you could learn from their techniques. There’s no shame in your final product, you had zero experience and were learning as you went. However, the phases that are concealed beneath all the finishing touches e.g. fiberglass repair/reinforcement, etc. never needed to look good, so being a little sloppy is excusable. But the paint job and coachwork are what’s visible. So… keep going, you’re *almost* done. You got this!! Sidenote: I only offer this perhaps harsh critique because the title described it as a “luxury boat,” if that’s not actually the goal, then I retract everything
Nah you're totally right. I really wanted to get a professional to paint it but this was a school project and I only had 4 months to complete it and everywhere that could paint it was booked up months ahead so my only option was to do it myself. Which, despite the shit finish, I really value the experience that I got. And same with the upholstery, I wanted to have someone help but with the time line it was just too much of a rush for anyone to want to take it on. So fun to learn from, but definitely not the best work. The luxury part of the title is more clickbate than anything though, and I totally understand that I'm an amateur who made many many mistakes. Thanks for your comment and consideration to how I would feel!
Just found your channel from the boat vid. I enjoyed the story telling and it’s cool to see someone with a similar heritage and childhood translate that into adult life. Keep it up bud.
